Implying that I was acting irresponsibly.

i would say your situation was irresponsible in two major areas:

1. you did not ensure for adequate birth control.

2. you did not have prior conversations with your sex partner to determine her stance on unplanned pregnancies and whether or not her views were in conflict to yours.

i once dated a man who i really cared for very much, but prior to our engaging in any sexual activity we determined our views on unplanned pregnancies were in such disagreement that we chose not to be intimate and went our separate ways.

calling another person human filth because you failed to do your due diligence BEFORE getting yourself off is troubling and offensive. if you are opposed to abortion, vet your dates before you park your junk in them or take the blame for your irresponsibility.

Remember that the "right to life" faction's interest in life ENDS at birth. It's about the FETUS, not the child who might need things like food, and education.

Marge Piercy makes this point quite powerfully (imho at least) in her poem Right to Life.

The salient lines:

You value children so dearly
that none ever go hungry, none weep
with no one to tend them when mothers
work, none lack fresh fruit,
none chew lead or cough to death and your
orphanages are empty. Every noon the best
restaurants serve poor children steaks.
