ORIGINAL: SlipSlidingAway No, they just coddle them in the womb, make sure they get spat out at prohibitive cost to the biological mother who should not be entitled to reproductive health care, birth control, or victim assistance (in the cases of a rape which was not violent enough to meet the requirements they sought to create) and then refuse to deal with it. Visionaries, the lot of them... Who said life was fair? Bad things happen to good people every minute of every day... That still doesn't mean the federal government should be involved, if you want the government to control your every decision, vote locally, this is a state's rights issue. What percentage of rapes ends up in pregnancy which threatens the woman's health? Yeah, but some bad things CAN'T happen to 50% of the population. A guy can be raped, but he can't be impregnated by rape, can he? Nope. So, sorry, you are welcome to your opinion, but until you have a baby producing system that has permanent residence in one of your orifices, you are not going to understand the inequality in all of this that has nothing to do with life being "fair". So, my answer is, what percentage of rapes end up in pregnancy that threatens the woman's heath? 100% more than those that threaten a man's health. Which is good enough for me. This is not a STATE'S rights issue. This is a WOMAN'S rights issue. And since they make up approximately 50% of the population, and 50% of the possible voting population, it's a big deal. You might not want it to matter on a grander scale, but hey, life's not fair. Right?
