jaydenne -> CM profile question (8/20/2012 8:00:18 AM)

Does CM update your age with time? i.e., if someone filled out a profile today and put their age as 35, and never updated the profile...would they be permanently 35? Or does CM automatically add a year every year?

I got a message from someone whose profile age is 7 years younger than what they told me via email. When I asked about the discrepancy, they claimed they haven't updated their profile since they created it 7 years ago. The last person I met online off a vanilla site had a FL profile where he shaved 10 years off his age and an inch off his height, and the last guy I dated I met online and also added an inch to his height plus had photos up that were prob 10 years old (he was still very hot so we dated anyway LOL). I know people fib about age and I get it to an extent, but to me it's five times worse to lie when you're busted, cuz then you're just not someone who can be trusted.

GreedyTop -> RE: CM profile question (8/20/2012 8:01:34 AM)

No.you have to update your age, yourself.

Says the gal whose first profile line is "This photo is not me..."

I have come to expect the height lies. I've even had men who were 6'3" add an inch or two! My ex is 6'4" so I know what that looks like.

Says the guy who also has art as his profile pic.

GreedyTop -> RE: CM profile question (8/20/2012 8:56:42 AM)

But he isn't being disingenious. HIS avatar is OBVIOUSLY a cartoon. YOURS is not.

Actually, that's just my icon.
All my profile pics are of me and by me as per TOS-you know, that box you click that says the photos are taken by you and are of you...that minor thing you are violating...
Unless of course, you have permission to use that photo and aren't stealing someone elses artistic property.
But my larger point is about consistency. I find it incredibly ironic, even humorous, that someone with photos that aren't of them is accusing others of misrepresentation...pot, kettle, black...

GreedyTop -> RE: CM profile question (8/20/2012 9:02:15 AM)

*runs off to perv Kana's pics AGAIN!! because, yanno.. they are YUMMY!!!*

jaydenne -> RE: CM profile question (8/20/2012 9:03:51 AM)

That photo isn't obvious to you as a professional studio shot?

Besides, the first line of my profile is in bold that I'm not the model in the photo. So if you're implying that I'm dishonest like those who put 10 year old pics or add/subtract from their age or height, it's simply not so. Lots of people on here do not put their faces and tons of profiles have artistic representations of what BDSM means to them.

I'd forgotten about how argumentative people hang around online forums criticizing people. Thanks for the reminder.

LadyPact -> RE: CM profile question (8/20/2012 9:04:03 AM)

For what it's worth, Kana's got pics.

Great link. Now, of course, I gotta wait till Carol gets home and see if I can get an accurate height measurement. I genuinely thought 6' was the correct number but suddenly I want to make sure *laughs*.

Ditto!

Omg, that kitten!

GreedyTop -> RE: CM profile question (8/20/2012 9:07:28 AM)

*looks at LadyP*

*looks at my phone*

*looks at my clock*

*sighs*

jaydenne -> RE: CM profile question (8/20/2012 9:10:45 AM)

Actually Kana you have a photo of a cat and an artistic represenation of BDSM on your profile.

Still, my point was people lying and misrepresenting themselves. The first thing in my profile is clarification, in case there are actually people clicking on my profile wanting the perfect ten model in the shoot, that I chose a pic that I thought was beautiful and symbolizes D/s to me, since I don't put my face online. It that's the same as telling strangers I'm younger/thinner/taller/shorter than I really am to you, then hooray. If I wanted to be dishonest, I'd be 35, I get pegged for that anyway.

Thanks for the help though, and have a great day!

LadyPact -> RE: CM profile question (8/20/2012 9:11:30 AM)

*Looks at supposed cell phone contact list.*

*Comes up empty.*

*Gets pissed off.*

Why do I always lose this number? Now is the perfect time.

kalikshama -> RE: CM profile question (8/20/2012 9:13:57 AM)

jaydenne,

From your journal entries, I see it's not just forum members critical of your use of that picture. You can use one of yourself that you've anonymized, which can be as easy as putting a big square over your face. I'd be happy to help you with this privately.

I feel the same way you do about a number of the things you've expressed in your profile/journal, but I keep those feelings out of there. If I need to vent, I come here to the discussion side. I feel that being negative on my profile does nothing to deter the idiots but could turn off quality men.

Best,

KK

No, it does not.

I hardly ever update my profile, but I do try to keep my age rather accurate. I do not think that someone is lying if he fails to annually update his or her age. It is one of them things people may forget or may not want to bother with.

I used to be 5'6.5" and rounded up to 5'7" but figure I've probably lost that half inch over the past decades so am rounding down these days.

jaydenne -> RE: CM profile question (8/20/2012 9:27:40 AM)

kalik, thanks, but I'm not interested in getting more interest. If I were I wouldn't be so up front about things I'm not looking for.

And re the journal entries you mentioned. There were 2 people who within an hour of putting up my profile, sent hate messages saying I'm "trying to get attention". One is well known for it, and the other has a second account that he uses to get around blocks. I've gotten more messages from people who've read the journal and said fuck 'em, it's a beautiful photo. That's how I feel too. I don't see the point in putting a photo of oneself up and then blurring it. I uploaded a photo that is a beautiful representation of D/s to me. People who think I'm "trying to get attention" or being dishonest can think that, it really doesn't bother me.
