Come on, DS, quite beating around the bush! Tell us how you really feel!

Yeah, my therapist says I need to stop "holding things in" and repressing my feelings.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

Tell your therapist, you are doing a great job of not repressing your thoughts around these parts.

Tough call....

There are literally millions of people with mental illnesses in the US alone…they do not kill. To me a killer is a killer…and this one just happens to have a mental illness…but no less a killer.

Does being mentally ill, EXEMPT one from the death penalty?

Does being poor, disenfranchised, mentally ill, and NOT having a good lawyer, make you a sitting duck FOR the death penalty?

Let's see, the rich rarely get the death penalty, the criminally insane rarely get the death penalty.

Who the hell TENDS to get the death penalty is the question?

ACLU- Death Penalty 101

hummmmmmmm

If I remember correctly the only requirement for executing an insane, or mentally ill, persons is they be aware of why they are being executed.

As for the rest of your post lets just assume the defendant received a competent defense and was judged on the crime and not his financial ethnic or racial situation.

I believe (as I have previously said) that if someone is truly insane (mentally ill), they can't possibly be held properly accountable (invocation of the death penalty) for their actions.

I do believe that these cases are rare.

Also, as I've said; I don't believe that being a mass-murdering fuckhead is proof that someone is insane (or non-compis mentis, if you prefer the legal term). Unfortunately, I think there have been examples of mass murderers who are not so mentally incumbered as to not be able to form the requisite intent to murder.

Having said all of that ... someone who has the "courage" to murder a bunch of people but then wants to hide behind an insanity plea is so beneath consideration that killing is too good for 'em but, it's all we've got. The only part of the OT that holds any truth for me is: "an eye for an eye".

Kill 'em all.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

(Yes, I notice the dichotomy of the last sentence and my closing)
