Why can't the poor register themselves to vote ? Are they to dumb ? Just asking.

Same reason you need your food cut up really small

Stop attacking the poor every time the government gives them a basic service.

I am against voter registration drives and remember to get out and vote public service messages. If they don't care enough to register by themselves they are unlikely to cast an educated vote.

The logic of that is eminently assailable.

Good for you. I'm sure the Governor of Alabama will put a stop to any once he hears your stance on the matter.
But guess what? Our Secretary of State is engaged in a state-wide registration initiative ON TV and via mail to most if not all Massachusetts residents. You know why? Because the town and city councils in a growing number of communities are pulling this cute little scam of sending out these 'local census cards' in the mail. in my town it doesn't even MENTION your voter status, but talks instead about how the local census helps them determine what services residents may need. Then it talks about requirements to license your pets and have their inoculations up to date. Last year, I got one. My dog died 3 years prior, so I ignored it.
This January, they cancelled my voter registration with no written notice. I vote in EVERY election and was FURIOUS when I went to the polls to vote in the primary and was forced to file a challenge and a provisional ballot.
So I'm very happy for you that you are convinced of whatever it is you think is "right". But I think there are plenty of goings on in the country you just might not be well informed about.
Just in case you wish to research our voter initiative and see that it's aimed at the population at large, the secretary's name is William Galvin and there's quite a bit of information available.

Didn't the scotus appoint bush to the second term?

No, that was his first term.

Thanks...some times the shenanigans seem to all run together.
