Status: offline 		A friend of mine said he heard the drought in the US and flooding overseas is a result of the earth shifting 10 degrees. Have any of you heard this or something similar?

10 degrees as opposed to what?


If the axial tilt had changed 10 degrees, sunrise and sunset would have been thrown way out and tides would have gone crazy.
Dont even think about the seismic problems.

Status: offline 		The Earth is constantly shifting. The poles are shifting, as well as the planet's magnetic fields. That is why compasses are not accurate.

Status: offline 		A leader in Iran thought the weather was being deliberately manipulated. I guess the US government wanted to cause a widespread drought here so they could pay tons in disaster relief

Status: offline 		The axial tilt has not varied by more than a single degree as far back as we have clocks. As a matter of fact the calendar circle at Stonehenge depends on the tilt staying the same, inside a certain very small range technically.

A more accurate description of what he is saying is,
Earth rotates on an axis that is tilted, as we circle the
sun our orientation stays the same which means half
the year the northern hemisphere will be closer to the
Sun and the other half of the year the southern
hemisphere will be closer, that's where summer and
winter come from.
That's the part everyone knows. What a lot of people
may not know is the earths magnetic field is slightly
out of alignment with where the physical north and
south poles are, and this difference in alignment is
slowly migrating. (very very slowly and nowhere near
10 degrees) the actual angle the surface of the
earth spins on, to my knowledge, doesn't noticeably
change, and if it did you would see it all over the news.

It is why I keep shifting my aluminum foil hat (tinfoil is so last century.) Aliens are manipulating the magnetic poles so they can put their own people in power. That is the only explanation of how Obama became president.

He also thinks that Al Jazeera is the middle eastern branch of the Informed Elders Of Zion, and that publically hanging gay people is an acceptable way to behave. The tit's unlikely to be right about much of anything, so he's not really a reputable source to correlate a fact for you.

Well yes, kind of - but the man I met claimed it was the Moon that shifted. He said this as he was holding a can of Carlsberg Special Brew and smoking a roll up, he looked a bit unsteady on his feet. I might have heard more but he staggered off towards the grass and collapsed when I refused to give him a quid for a cup of tea.

It was actually 8.77374 degrees and....it only affected those people without city water enough to water 276,000 acres.
