JstAnotherSub -> Detoxifying the body, or at least the saliva (5/31/2012 12:29:22 PM)

So, in the hopes of being a healthier person, I want to detox my body, particularly my saliva, since yanno having a clean mouth is next to gawdliness and all that. I figure if the mouth and saliva are detoxed, the body shall follow.

Anyone ever done this? Care to offer any tips?

I would love to detox in as few hours as I can. My need for healthiness is in a hurry!

Um.

Really, the body is a self maintaining organism. You have kidneys, and a liver, and they really do what they're supposed to do as far as keeping you okay. If you have been exposed to things like heavy metals, well, there is not much you can do without medical help. I grew up here in SE Michigan, and I am sure that I have enough residual PCBs in my system to preserve me. It's just a thing.

Chewing parsley is good for the saliva, and purifies the blood. Otherwise, remove processed foods from your diet, hydrate yourself, stay away from ARTIFICAL SWEETENERS and junk. Fresh or fresh frozen veg and fruit, a variety of foods, move around as much as you can, and you will feel better. You can do all manner of short term nonsense to your system, and it will basically mess with your electrolytes and make you dizzy, which reads as "energetic" for some people. Fasting for a few days won't hurt you as long as you're not diabetic.

Hmm, my decoder ring seems to be saying:
Chances are, no matter what you attempt as a detox measure - you will mostly likely still have a 2 day - 2 week window of uncertainty depending on jsut how TOXIFIED you are. Other issues such as metabolism and how high your body fat is will play a factor in detoxing as well.

A family emergency that requires your presence for two weeks is your best bet at 'detox'.

You don't think that would be the reverse, Charlotte? All that extra cortisol would poison anyone...[&o]

[:D] I'm not sure someone being tested for illicit non-prescription drug use can technically use that defense LOL!

I was thinking maybe JAS was hinting at needing to pass a saliva screening for something a little more 'recreational.'

JAS, if I'm wrong - you have sincerest apologies. Well sorta, I was very amused by my own interpretation of your post; so I really only marginally apologize for that.

HA. I am actually trying to get a part time job for the summer, and lo and behold they called and asked me if I would be willing to take a saliva test in the next 24 hours. Of course I said sure I will.

I just wanna be sure my saliva shows them how healthy I am yanno......

I think the test will take place at 4:20 ish.

HAHA!!

So much depends on the consumption... and that shit stays in your system!

So what you really meant was you want to beat a drug test.

Not going to happen. You can try every dumbass claim you find on the intarwebz and you're still going to test exactly the same as if you were tested right now.

JstAnotherSub -> RE: Detoxifying the body, or at least the saliva (5/31/2012 1:36:28 PM)

Well, I would never come on these boards asking how to beat a drug test, cause that would violate TOS.

ETA: Crap! Teaches me to just post without reading the rest of the thread. Sorry, I'm not advocating your reason. MY ideas are not for you.

Okay now that I know the issue, I have a suggestion. I have no idea in hell if this will work. GO to your grocery store and by a celestial seasoning tea called AM Detox. It contains wonderful milk thistle which will detox your liver. Drink as many cups as you can stand. If you hate the taste, add honey.

Now for your mouth. By a boatload of fresh strawberries. They cleanse the month and are good for your teeth !! Buy a boatload of sugarless gum, same thing. Now, along with all that tea, drink as much water as your kidneys can stand.

Let us know how you do.

MercTech -> RE: Detoxifying the body, or at least the saliva (5/31/2012 5:36:13 PM)

Ok, want to actually detox the mouth, get your dentist to prescribe some gly-oxice...
That is a dental peroxide for killing bacteria in the mouth.

Karmastic -> RE: Detoxifying the body, or at least the saliva (6/1/2012 10:58:15 AM)

i'm living proof you can beat a drug test, at least a urine one. the concept was dilution (drink shitload of Gatorade), which maintained electrolytes. and vitamin b for color. and creatine powder to maintain that tested level (counteract the dilution). i purchased the recipe off the net.

this probably wouldn't work for a saliva test, since fatty tissue can retain testable THC content for months.

i tried the pills and supplements - they're all BS.

re tou - as far as i know, it's not a crime to put things in your body with the intent of beating a drug test. this isn't unlawful.

LafayetteLady -> RE: Detoxifying the body, or at least the saliva (6/1/2012 12:44:06 PM)

But since the company is looking for you to be drug free, trying to beat or actually beating a drug test is fraud.

the standard employment contracts lawfully require you to be drug free while working. and they require you to submit to drug tests. period. they cannot control what drugs you choose to ingest while not working, as long as your ability to work is not impaired when you do start a shift.

i think it would only be fraud if they required to you explicitly agree to not take unlawful drugs even while not working. or, if they explicitly required you to agree to not ingest things that would interfere with the reliability of a drug test. i strongly doubt any such employment contracts exist, outside of professional sports. perhaps you or someone else is aware of that?

With some companies, this is true. I wouldn't want anyone to work for me stoned or drunk, but, I would rather have someone who had smoked weed come in the morning after than someone who had gotten drunk.

As for this company, the folks I will be working for are well aware that I practice herbal therapy. They are also aware that I have had the same job since 1994, and that I am a helluva great asset, especially in the position I am going for.

We all have to dance the dance nowadays. I think that, as long as someone getting food stamps or welfare doesn't have to get a cheek swab every time they apply, that no one applying for a job should have to either.

One, day, when I am queen of the world, it shall be so!
