FR Obviously the woman in the article felt better about herself to have had this public affirmation of herself. But it really does beg the question of why? It concerns me that she felt she had to do something public to make it a positive experience for her to be solo. It sounds to me like she is having difficulty truly embracing her divorced status. And, therefore, something about it seems insulting to single, divorced or widowed people. After all, what exactly is WRONG with going through life solo? Not to mention she is not actually SOLO. She has a child, does she not? So she is part of a nuclear family that consists of one adult and one child. I mean, look, people are free to do whatever they want. Celebrate whatever they want. But something here suggests to me she has huge discomfort over her actual status.
