Seven sponsors left and counting.

I'm expecting Fluke to file suit against him as well as the radio station that employs him, for defamation and slander. If so, he's in deep trouble.

I am hoping this is the case. I'm sorry to say that I watched Rush a bit when he had his syndicated tv show back in the '90s. He wasn't quite so far out in right field at the time though--or I just don't remember it being that way. Back then, I didn't remember what day it was most of the time I was so sick.

I had no idea we were paying for that fat asshole's oxy's by running him on Armed Forces Radio.

Instant incentive for me to sign

I've heard this bullshit before, trying to remember where....oh,wait it was you on another thread.
Same question than...if it was your mother, sister or daughter....would that too little ,too late apology be enough for you?
Would it still be "over" ?

Sponsors have been fleeing Rush Limbaugh's radio program after last week's incident in which he called a birth control advocate a "slut" and a "prostitute."

Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert announced on Twitter Friday his Quicken Loans company—which also has naming rights on the Cavs' arena—would be pulling its ads from Limbaugh's show immediately. It gets more interesting, though, when you consider the Cavs' flagship radio station is WTAM 1100—which is Cleveland's Home For Rush Limbaugh.
According to this article on WTAM's website, the Cavaliers are suspending all advertising (there's some more details here):

The Cleveland Cavaliers have decided to suspend any and all on-air advertising with the Rush Limbaugh radio program, citing "inflammatory comments" coupled with valuable feedback from both clients and team employees.

Apparently this means that on its own flagship station the Cavs don't want to be mentioned for three hours, though it's not quite clear how this will work out—but we'll try and get more information on this in the morning.

My mother/sister/daughter wouldn't attend a Catholic university and demand they change thousands of years of doctrine so they could get their groove on for free.

That's very accommodating of them... I am sure the Pope will be touched by their gesture... and maybe you can score one of those cool little Dashboard Marys.

Thats easy to say on a message board, rob. First, you twist the facts, second, you speak for women that its impossible to determine the validity of your claim.

Based upon your posting history, its my opinion that you are full of it.

manunkind -> RE: Rush Limbaugh, must be so proud of himself... (3/4/2012 10:22:20 PM)

I am ecstatic that that fat drug addicted slob is getting his advertisers to drop him. He's a shitty human

being with no redeeming quality. Maybe his mother does.

To hit it best: this bastard argued that the only reason to use birth control was because of promiscuity. He

said that women pop a pill before an encounter to have no results.

NO, your fucking ideal Mr Limbaugh is an ignorant shitstain. He's ignorant of basic medical fact.

One: You have to take Orthotricyclin every day to get the coverage for pregnancy.

Most fucking importantly, many women have to take this DOCTOR FUCKING PRESCRIBED MEDICINE to make it so they

don't go through two weeks of cramps and PMS pain. Orthotricyclin treats the symptoms, and lessens them.

Thanks to shitstains like your worthless fucking ass, I had to watch my second girlfriend ever go through agony.

For half of every month.

So, hey. Fuck you, you shitstain.

(Note: I didn't mean to get this offensive, but seeing someone apologizing for this shit brought aLOT back. And

people need to know what this shit can do. PM me with a warning, but, yeah.)

DaddySatyr -> RE: Rush Limbaugh, must be so proud of himself... (3/4/2012 11:03:34 PM)

I honestly thought Mr. Limbaugh had become irrelevent years ago. I guess I thought that when they pulled him from TV, it kind of signalled the end.

I haven't listened to him (for more than maybe a few minutes, while avoiding a commercial on my regular station) in over 20 years. I guess I was projecting ... he's irrelevent to me so, he must be so to others.

Certainly, at one time, he had some power and some say in Republican party politics. I remember the bru-ha-ha that followed the Republicans taking the house back in the nineties and how the party kowtowed to El Rushbo (part of my reasoning for leaving the Republican party).

I can't help but wonder, though, since Mr. Limbaugh has done his fair share of being "right" and being instrumental in holding some democratic feet to some fires, if this isn't part of some kind of backlash ... sour grapes, if you will.

I am not saying that what he did wasn't over the line. I've said that, already but, while there's a bunch of people who only feel alive when they're bathed in the schadenfreude that frequently occasions this kind of public faux pas, I wonder if there isn't some measure of: this is the only thing we're ever going to "get him" on.

Surely, the people that attack him for being fat would attack him if he had called someone else fat? Surely, had he ever lambasted someone for being addicted to drugs, people would have excoriated him for being heartless. Surely, these same people wouldn't stand outside a school for the deaf and make fun of those people for being so afflicted?

No. We're more evolved than that, here in America. We're above berating people because of physical differences or addictions.

If we examine this for what it's really worth; an entertainer went way over the line. He thought he was being funny and he failed, miserably (Whoopi Goldberg and Ted Danson wearing blackface in the 21st century).

While I haven't been much of a pure capitalist in quite some time, the market, apparently, is moving to do what Democratic leaders and their minions have failed to do for 20+ years; taking Rush down to size.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

And you're different how. Do you think people who are overweight, or unfortunate enough to know what it's like to become addicted to pain-killers, are going to enjoy your comments?

But hey, as long as you and Rush feel better now, what else really matters, right?

The guy has had a VERY continual record of attacking anyone he can make political capital of. And maybe this is just one of those deals where we've had enough. I don't know about you, but I for one am tired of paying the fuck to do his warped 'public service'.
I dunno... how do you feel about paying the guy to do his thing (I'm presuming you still pay taxes like the rest of us. right?)?

Yeah, he has many times in regard to other public figures along with insults about other aspects of people's physiques... So Yeah, he got himself recognized as a fat fuck. Glass house syndrome come to life...

You CAN'T be serious.
You're unaware of his profound hypocrisy and the hurt he cause people back in 95?

No, least none of the ones I know. I wouldn't attribute the same behavior to you either. Course Limbaugh's been known to take a cheap shot of two at autistic people himself.

Bottom line is he's not a real high caliber human being.

Actually, you're so ignorant of my life that it's impressive I understand addiction: painkillers, muscle relaxers, a few drinks, I know what it takes to get through the day. I am open that I understand this. Ever gone to work, and then popped a few tramadol? I have. And admitted it to the people I've worked with for a decade. I know the fun. High as a goddamned kite, and hey, it makes my work fun.

However, I do NOT fucking accept some shitstain who hold himself above. As better. I like my ways of dealing, but I willl never act as if I am better than those who deal the same way.

And if you do not understand this difference, well, I hope you have a happy life. Hope you don't live mine.

DaddySatyr -> RE: Rush Limbaugh, must be so proud of himself... (3/4/2012 11:33:45 PM)

Stern, it's amusing (to me) that there's a huge difference in how you and I express our dis-satisfaction.

I speak out against what Rush said.

I hate the fact that our president is a totalitarian socialist. Personally, I think he's a nice guy. His politics just suck.

I hate the fact that our country has been using its military to engage in empire building for the last 50 years (at least) but, moreso in the last 30.

I hate the fact that there are laws that attack our constitution and threaten our freedom.

You hate Rush Limbaugh.

You hate people that don't agree with President Obama.

You hate President Bush for invading two countries you feel he had no right to invade (we won't talk about Lybia, right now).

You hate people that interpret the constitution differently than you do.

I don't think I've ever seen you claim to be a democrat so, I won't assign that to you but, based upon what I've seen, you would fit in with the "Party of the People (that hate)".

Peace and comfort,

Michael
