Avrile Levigne is getting closer to my age daily and Pamela Anderson is getting closer to needing me desperately.

Work is less important (but unfortunately still needed) and fun is more important

The increase in awareness and intelligence that comes from experience.

I still have a hard time believing what a fucking clueless idiot I was when I was young.

"Hey Marc! Get on top of the car! I'll race real fast then hit the brakes and we'll see how far you can fly!"

"Sounds awesome, dude!"

Aside from the added inches, I am loving all of it except the need for glasses when reading itty bitty print.

(but I am still struggling to wrap my head around the whole 50 number........it's just......weird)

Hard to choose a "best" thing. The menopause was fantastic. Not breeding = excellent perkiness and shape from the girls (sorry, Aileen, but you know your kids are worth it!). The bad part about the reading glasses---I can see how crepey my hands are! EEEEE!

I didn't really feel "authentic" until I turned 40. Next year: 50! Which will be really spectacular.

Worst is losing the hair. I thought I was prepared for that, but I was SO wrong!

There are a few people with whom I quite look forward to that moment.

Yep.
You can talk all you like about pluses to getting older, but the biggest one is that it beats the alternative hands down...

And.....you no longer have to explain why you want a particular drug (because most of us now prefer to take fewer drugs)...so now the doc says...."ok".

Actually Marc, it doesn't at all amaze me what a clueless idiot you were.

(I was too).

Thankfully, now....I know everything.

(It's a gift and a curse).
