He's trying to tell you that the police have no legal responsibility to protect you. Or your children.
They cannot be charged, or sued, for failing to do so.

A sailor home on leave got smartass about my 10 year old daughter shooting a .45 Colt.
We went to the range.
He lost.
Never assume that servicemen or cops are proficient with firearms.

You assume there is no history of illegal carry there.
You assume there was a history widespread illegal carry in the general public.
Both assumptions may be right. Both assumptions may be wrong.
Either way you base your arguments on unproven assumptions.

Non-gunners, in my experience, seem often not to grasp the idea that a carry gun is... carried.
