The warning about persons leading you on just to get you to sign up for a paid membership on a bdsm web site are true. Funny thing is, when you confront them about it, they get defensive or evade the questions. I guess the money they get from deceiving people feels good, but actually called out as a lying money-whore does not.

Welcome to life, footslave (I presume the ftslv means that?). I think it's a very nasty and dishonest practice, akin to false advertising, hawking, and such. It's even illegal in some places, but the Internet is very much a free-for-all that goes beyond many legal jurisdictions. At least for now. Caveat Emptor. ETA: BTW, for anyone and everyone, if it's not immediately obvious to you.. Any site which offers free profiles in which others may contact you, but requires you to pay before you can read any messages sent to you, you're likely dealing with a hawker whom gets paid. Sites which require you to pay only if you choose to reply to such a message are just protecting their business interests. But some of them also employ hawkers, so again, Caveat Emptor.

It is not just true, it is common. I am just surprised you were ABLE to get the satisfaction of a conversation with the thief. Bonus, from what I have read, it is damn hard to figure out how to get off of such a 'service', if you sign up. What is up with that, OP? Did ya dice yer debit card?

We heard about it from another guest and he alerted the card company to the possibility. sure enough, they called him on his way home that someone had tried to use his card from south america.
