ORIGINAL: MistressDarkArt When all else fails, what other solutions have snoring-partner couples come with to enjoy a good night's sleep? I divorced him. Really, my ex husband snored, and was also a heavy sleeper. Because the noise was keeping me awake I would essentially torment him looking for solutions. I found that if I did the "jaw thrust" taught for CPR (yea, I am pretty sure it isn't called that anymore, this was a long time ago), he would stop. So I would hold his jaw like that while visually searching the room for a way to hold his jaw in place. Eventually, I would just smack him awake and tell him he was snoring. But I really did divorce him and that solved the problem of his snoring for me, lol. Here's the funny part of that story though. After that, I dated a guy who snored waaaayyyy worse than my ex husband. The sound of his snoring lulled me to sleep. But if I put my head on his chest, the sound of his heartbeat drove me nuts, lol. My father snored. Really loud. I'm pretty sure in hindsight, he had sleep apnea. But it was always hsyterical when he would fall asleep in his recliner watching television and eventually the snoring got so loud, he actually woke himself up, always startled exclaiming, "what was that?" I loved my dad dearly, but things like that always had us rolling on the floor laughing. When he was awake, he was blaming the dog for a funny smell and getting a dirty look from the poor dog as she sniffed and walked away in disgust. Seriously, have him go to the doctor to make sure there are no health issues. It could be sleep apnea, post nasal drip, allergies, or he could simply be a "mouth breather," so when he sleeps he's going to snore.
