If the guy needs to lose weight or has high blood pressure, sleep apnea can contribute to those things, too.

My dad never denied he snored, he knew it was like a freight train running through the house.  He didn't realize it was his snoring that woke him up, though. 

For that matter, he knew the dog was at fault either, lol.

I'm going to have to disagree with that.  My father was not overweight, and my ex wasn't either.  Not by a long shot.  I would guess that my father had a deviated septum (honker to rival Jimmy Durante), and my ex was a mouth breather.

I have snored so as to rock the fuckin casbah since my yout.  I am not overweight and was actually thin as a read growing up, skinny........
