My my my, such anger this morning.

Yep. The barista at Dunkin' Donuts put cream and sugar in my coffee today when I requested it black; didn't notice until I got back home. Everyone is going to pay today...

LOL

Thats what you get when you pay minimum wage.

upset?

you gave me a good laugh.

seeing that the left has nothing but insults (can't actually defend their actions) made my morning.

Its all you understand, puppy.

Give you information, you want to gnaw on a chew toy.

Give you facts and you think someone gave you a cat and you growl.

Give you comedy and you need to take a dump.

No sense in bothering with you since you cant be paper trained.

luckydawg -> RE: How the hell is this supposed to help the 99%? (12/13/2011 6:08:43 AM)

its fucking funny when the trolls have nothing but this kind of weak attacks.

they resort to it when they have nothing else.

For instance I pointed out the facts of the numbers of people involved in the joke eviction Tazzy cited.

So, she hits me with these rather lame attacks.

Because she knows I am right, and it was meaningless event by 24 (out of 300,000 in the city 2,,300,000 in the metro area) people.

farglebargle -> RE: How the hell is this supposed to help the 99%? (12/13/2011 6:10:27 AM)

It's fucking sad when people think the truck driver delivering everything to the stores you go to shouldn't have a bathroom at the port to use while they're waiting to be assigned a load to drive.

luckydawg -> RE: How the hell is this supposed to help the 99%? (12/13/2011 6:14:23 AM)

Farg, the truckers DO NOT SUPPORT the attacks on the ports.

The .0000001% don't speak for the drivers.

The drivers and thier uniouns do.

Not a band of dirty hippies and anarchists.

Nor armchair revolutionaries...

tazzygirl -> RE: How the hell is this supposed to help the 99%? (12/13/2011 6:15:47 AM)

The whole thing is sad, fargle. Including the whimpering from the puppy.

The sheriff department showed up with eviction papers for the pittsburgh crew, told them they were not there to evict. OP told them to take the papers back and recycle them, and the sheriff said.. ok.

You are incorrect. The port truck drivers are openly in support.

Why? Just like Wall Street doesn’t have to abide by rules, our industry isn’t bound to regulation. So the market is run by con artists. The companies we work for call us independent contractors, as if we were our own bosses, but they boss us around. We receive Third World wages and drive sweatshops on wheels. We cannot negotiate our rates. (Usually we are not allowed to even see them.) We are paid by the load, not by the hour. So when we sit in those long lines at the terminals, or if we are stuck in traffic, we become volunteers who basically donate our time to the trucking and shipping companies. That’s the nice way to put it. We have all heard the words “modern-day slaves” at the lunch stops.

There are no restrooms for drivers. We keep empty bottles in our cabs. Plastic bags too. We feel like dogs. An Oakland driver was recently banned from the terminal because he was spied relieving himself behind a container. Neither the port, nor the terminal operators or anyone in the industry thinks it is their responsibility to provide humane and hygienic facilities for us. It is absolutely horrible for drivers who are women, who risk infection when they try to hold it until they can find a place to go.

The companies demand we cut corners to compete. It makes our roads less safe. When we try to blow the whistle about skipped inspections, faulty equipment, or falsified logs, then we are “starved out.” That means we are either fired outright, or more likely, we never get dispatched to haul a load again.

Well, you keep chinese imports out of the Wal-Mart pipeline for awhile (so they will have to seek domestic sources for their shoddy goods) as well as kicking the corporations in their fat asses, so it should provide a stimulus to the US economy, really.

(123 u. s. 131) THE ANARCHISTS' CASE.1 Ex parte SPIES and others. (October 2 J, 1887.) ERROR, WRIT OF—FROM UNITED STATES SUPREME COURT—MOTION IN OPEN COURT.     That the first 10 articles of amendment were not intended to limit the powers of the state governments in respect to their own people, but to operate on the national government alone, was decided more than a half century ago, and that decision has been steadily adhered to since.

Barron v. Baltimore., 7 Pet. 243, 247; Livingston v. Moore, Id. 469, 552; Fox v. Ohio, 5 How 410, 434; Smith v. Maryland, 18 How. 71, 76; Withers v. Buckley, 20 How. 84, 91; Percear v. Com., 5 Wall. 475, 479; Twitchell v. Com., 7 Wall. 321. 325; Justices v. Murray, 9 Wall. 274, 278; Edwards v. Elliott, 21 Wall. 532, 557; Walker v. Sauvinet, 92 U. S. 90; U. 8. v. Cruiksiiank, Id. 542, 552; Pearson v. Tewdall, 95 U. S. 294, 296; Davidson v. New Orleans, 96 U. S. 97, 101; Kelly v. Pittsburgh, 104 U. S. 79; Presser v. Illinois, 116 U. S. 252, 265, 6 Sup. Ct. Rep. 580.

It was contended, however, in argument, that, "though originally the first ten amendments were adopted as limitations on federal power, yet, in so far as they secure and recognize fundamental rights—common-law rights—of the man, [unalienable RIGHTS of the declaration of independence] they make them privileges and immunities
[RIGHTS converted to privileges, hence you no longer can declare, hence you ask the state for fucking permission pal.]
of the man as a citizen of the United States
, and cannot now be abridged by a state under the fourteenth amendment. In other words, while the ten amendments as limitations on power only apply to the federal government, and not to the states, yet in so far as they declare or recognize rights of persons, these rights are theirs, as citizens of the United States, and the fourteenth amendment as to such 'rights limits state power, as the ten amendments had limited federal power." It is also contended that the provision of the fourteenth amendment, which declares that no state shall deprive "any person of life, liberty, or property without due process of law," implies that every person charged with crime in a state shall be entitled to a trial by an impartial jury, and shall not be compelled to testify against himself.

did you vote for them to abolish unalienable rights too lucky?

So who you gonna complain to now that there is no remedy?

Since when does lack of MOB control equal anarchy?

Every heard of a court?  How can there be anarchy with a court system?

There is anarchy now because the court system is so fucking corrupt!

Ever heard of "self  [as in personal] government"?  Of course not you need a mob to control you right.

They sold you snake oil and you bought it hook line and sinker!

Union leaders don't seem to want the ports shut down, unless they are the ones who are calling for the strike. And it is definitely hurting local business owners and truckers. It isn't like the US is suddenly going to retool and start manufacturing our own goods again. I doubt we are capable.

I have largely refrained from criticizing OWS, but I fail to see how blocking ports is supposed to help the American middle class.  On the contrary, it seems like a really stupid, counterproductive thing to do.  What is the point?

do you really believe ANYTHING they do is for YOUR good?

YOu should know better.

If their lips are moving its a 99% lie!

The object of government (which ARE corporations, associations etc), is to make MONEY for themselves and if they are lucky enough to get a windfall you get the crumbs.

There was more irony in my post than say the superstructures of United States Steel buildings....don't quite know how to get that across.

Our one dimensionality in this country.  Our lack of depth and maneuverability.  Just think if it was a terrorist action, or a real live war  attack.  We are all cattle, no hat in nearly every aspect.

Some might see that as a pipe dream, but I say it is an eventual possibility, even though the movie is science fiction.

No, it isnt. It would take major changes in human DNA, and since we arent evolving in any signficant way any longer, that isnt going to happen.

Their point is simple: disrupt production and hamper the division of labor.

Only Marxists and their bastardized step-children, the Progressives, could think that sabotaging voluntary exchange raises the standards of living for the 99%.

The drivers want a place to take a shit. Why don't you want the truck drivers to have a bathroom?

Why don't you put the blame where it belongs. The truckers in question are independent contractors, and dont pay union dues. Guess who negotiates who gets to use the dock bathrooms?

farglebargle -> RE: How the hell is this supposed to help the 99%? (12/13/2011 3:49:05 PM)

lol "Independent Contractor".

Just like the guys picking ( and shitting on ) the spinach are "independent contractors" ( can you say "Workman's Comp Insurance Fraud?" )

Try to follow this fargy....

you claim drivers which is plural, yet your letter was only signed by one oakland port driver.

THe drivers didn't go on strike, which is what they would do if they supported it.

Only 10% as many people showed up to attack the port in Oakland as last time(and that is going with the high end turnout claims from last time)....

Fact, undisputable

Other than the movement dying...what excuse do any of you OWSies have for the reason?

willbeurdaddy -> RE: How the hell is this supposed to help the 99%? (12/13/2011 4:25:16 PM)

Actually, dawg, it was signed by 5. Whoopeee. But they cant strike, they arent port union members. Any idiot who claims that a union recognized by the port wouldnt negotiate bathrooms is totally clueless.

luckydawg -> RE: How the hell is this supposed to help the 99%? (12/13/2011 4:44:47 PM)

Actually, from a logistics point of view, I can see why requiring the truckers to use the restroom at the truckstops, and not devote a huge parking area (In the port where land is incredibly expensive, as opposed to a truck stop 10 miles out of the city where land is dirt cheap) for truckers to leave thier rigs and go potty(eat, hang out, get a hooker, whatever). It would seem from a logistic and security standpoint to get the trucks in and out as fast as possible. Some % of the trucks when turned off will fail to start, jamming up the works, for example.

Yeah that sucks, but its part of the job. Perhaps they should invent a usefull disposable shitter, to keep in the trucks for those times when you just can't wait.

W, I was thinking more about the Oakland port specifically, it was the only one that even closed for part of a day. But I was mistaken in thinking that criteria existed in the thread.

Good catch. 5. (What I wrote was correct but not relevant. A logical error on my part)
