If in fact the leftists don't like Obama, the worst damage they can do to him would be to not vote. They're not gonna vote for Romney/Gingrich/whomever the GOP fields. Bashing Obama overlooks the fact that his opponent needs to garner more electoral votes than Obama does. It's still a referendum on Obama, but it's also one on his challenger.
