ORIGINAL: Nosathro What gets me if Gingrich is so opposed to the bail out and all, it appears the money he was paid, as well as others, so Fannie Mae could get influence in the government, came from the $169 Billion bail out they got. Gingrich was opposed to the bail out, but it seems he not against getting any of that money for himself. As asinine an argument as the conservatives who say "If they think taxes should be raised let them donate it themselves". HE wasnt bailed out. HE provided a service. The source of funds to pay him is irrelevant if his company provided value for the service. I am not so sure there was anything more than the typically and culturally nefarious about this. This deal with Fanny was the typical Washington political, for-profit merry-go-round...get what you can, while you can, by any means. I am sure Fanny got absolutely nothing for their millions and never expected anything for it. The bailout for Fanny people and others is the system now. Capitalists taking huge risks, making $billion in profits and bonuese, govt. takes the risk. There will be another. Estimates are now running at $5-$6 trillion when these derivatives (of no value really, there is none) go belly up. AND...that will only be another installment payment...until the next one after that. Think about it kinkroids...it worked once and we get a few coeds sitting in, in a few towns. The bankers know beyond all doubt, they will get clean away...with another one...or two. Oh and Newt is Paris Hilton...nothing more. A pseudo professor of history in whose lectures...revises [it] to support his own political dogma.
