Thi is from channel four news in NY, so I don't have the info for a link.

The court has denied the restraining order to keep the protestors out of the park.

Before you all start cheering as this being a big win, the court also clearly stated the protestors can NOT have tents, sleeping bags, tarps or sleep in the park.

Status: offline 		NEW YORK (AP) — A New York judge has upheld the city's dismantling of the Occupy Wall Street encampment, saying that the protesters' first amendment rights don't entitle them to camp out indefinitely in the plaza.
Supreme Court Justice Michael Stallman on Tuesday denied a motion by the demonstrators seeking to be allowed back into the park with their tents and sleeping bags.
Police cleared out the protesters in a nighttime sweep early Tuesday. The judge upheld the city's effective eviction of the protesters after an emergency appeal by the National Lawyers Guild.
The protesters have been camped out in privately owned Zuccotti Park since mid-September. Mayor Michael Bloomberg said he ordered the sweep because health and safety conditions and become "intolerable" in the crowded plaza.

I'm not really liking the city on this one though.  There is a whole camp of people in the St. George terminal that I have to walk past every evening and two people with a sleeping bag in the foyer of my building that the city has never cared about. Funny how the city is only concerned with where some people sleep.

Status: offline 		Doesnt it though. Same here. There is a side road that runs by the casino in Pittsburgh. Looking to the right, you can see a bed under the overpass. Im talking a bed frame, including mattress and blankets, pillows as well. Clothes hung out on a line. Been there as long as I have lived here.

Are the people in St. George terminal there with generators and tents?

As for the people in your building, the question is whether anyone has ever complained as asked that they be removed. Your building is a privately owned building and it is up to the management/owners to do what they need to have those people removed. I support your issues with it, but suggest you complain to the management.

There are plenty of State Parks that do not allowing camping, and even more that state you can't enter after dark. Does that mean people should be permitted to violate that for any reason?

I'm right now looking at video on the television (I have no need or desire to show my "research" skills) of the protestors, prior to the "eviction" from the park. What I see are not only tents and people sleeping, but trash all over the place.

I guess as long as these people want to protest, no one else should have any expectation to enjoy the park or the public streets. After all, these people want change, and they are going to leave their homes and jobs and camp out until change occurs, so everyone else, whether they agree change is necessary or not, should just shut up and stay home.

Status: offline 		I have no issue with the political process. If they want to protest, they should be prepared to be arrested. Its just how things work. However, the abuse of power, the level of injuries, do not mesh with what we are shown over and over again.

No real need for a generator in the terminal but tents, tarps and boxes are outside.  People inside have sleeping bags.  As to my building, even though I suspect it's not a real question, I'm next door to a police station and the building and the police have been contacted.  The building calls the police, the police do nothing.  Now my point was not "what am I to do with these nasty homeless people" but my serious doubts as to the city's motives being what they stated.  The city could care less about people sleeping anywhere they want except in this circumstance.  Do I think the city has a right to enforce rules about sleeping in a park? Yes I do.  I would, however, rather hear that the city has taken a greater stance at solving homelessness if they are so concerned with "safety and sanitation" as I can't see that one park with a hand full of people spending the night is any worse that what happens all over the city every day.

Tazzy this isn't so much a firect response as it is an affirmation of what you said about arrests...

I haven't met a SINGLE individual in the entire movement who isn't ready to roll on the concept of being arrested for whatever they want to call patriotic civil disobedience this week or the next.
  And I want to be clear, YEAH we know we're violating curfews, loitering, anti-camping laws, name it we'll agree we're aware of the accusation and offense. And people looking on should know that we do this because there are FAR LARGER CRIMES being committed daily against their persons daily. We acknowledge everybody's right to be blissfully ignorant of that fact. But It sure as hell doesn't obligate US in any way to lay there and take it. They have chosen to in the name of not having to get involved or thinking things aren't that bad (course with the bailouts of 08, homelessness on the rise, foreclosures still not bottoming out, 14 -30 million people being out of work depending on who you believe, Banks like BOA yet again backstopping LUDICROUS derivatives... I suppose if you're high enough, that 'doesn't sound that bad' or 'can be fixed with the right republican' kinda works)... And I guess that's called "prerogative" in polite circles
     But yeah, we understand and we'll take our lumps till we can't. And what the opposition needs to get through their thick fucking skulls is that it's not the 20s on the outskirts of pittsburg at a steel mill, or a coal mine in NoWhere West Virginia.... The whole fucking world is going to watch them attacking peaceful protesters and the media skills are embedded this time.
But back on topic

Myles Boisen sent OfftheBus the following photos and report from Occupy Cal Tuesday evening.

The day was filled with non-violent teach-ins, meetings and marches, culminating with a speech by UC professor and former US Secretary of Labor Robert Reich. I would estimate the size of the crowd for Reich at 5000 or more. There were at least 2000 in attendance at the earlier General Assembly.
A spirited march arrived from Occupy Oakland, which further swelled the ranks at historic Sproul Plaza.

An Iraq War veteran serving as a volunteer media for participants in the Occupy Seattle movement alleges he was maced 23 times in the face by Seattle police while attempting to render aid to protestors during the November 2 protest at a downtown Chase Bank.

Chris Anderson was 18 years old when he joined the military and became a medic serving in Iraq. Following in the footsteps of his grandpa, who served on a PT boat in Vietnam, Anderson was fulfilling his lifelong dream of a career serving his country. Six months into his tour of duty, while helping to evacuate a building in Baghdad, it collapsed, sending Chris soaring through debris and chaos, then crashing to the ground three stories below. When he awoke in a hospital bed, his sergeant was holding discharge papers.

Now 24, with lifelong disabilities including synthetic bones and knee caps, he will never serve his country again on the battlefield. But that hasn't stopped his passion for the 'American Way. He now stands up for his fellow countrymen in a different way, as a medic in the "Occupy Seattle" camp.
He was administering emergency care to dozens of protesters caught in a chaos reminiscent of places far from the streets of urban America, when he was himself assaulted by police attempting to control the situation.
Protesters from Occupy Seattle, had gathered at Chase Bank in Seattle, to continue their stand against corporate greed and its undue influence on American life.
"It was by far the worst day of the Occupy movement in Seattle," said Chris, standing in the drizzle this week near the tents where he and his comrades sleep on the grounds of Seattle Central Community College. His eyes were running, still sore and swollen from being sprayed multiple times with what he maintains was "bear mace" - the kind used to melt the fur of bears in order to penetrate the skin. The area around his mouth still bears chemical burns from direct sprays to his face and torso.
