Cops violating court orders and assaulting unarmed people. Time for a citizen's arrest. I hope they both press charges. How many tea party protestors were assaulted like this?

Before you all start cheering as this being a big win, the court also clearly stated the protestors can NOT have tents, sleeping bags, tarps or sleep in the park.

Actually, before you knickers get too twisted in a church lady dance or whatever this glee is about, consider a couple things. Sure, we're willing to work with the law or leverage it to our advanatge (not nearly as much as the crooks in the NY City hall who accept a sudden $4.6 million donation from 'ombudsman'  Jamie Dimon on the afternoon of their first big crackdown),,, but at the end of the day... Everyone in the movement is quite willing and proud to engage in civil disobedience to achieve our objective.
So win or lose in court... we're just getting warmed up hon.

Good enough, we can work with that.
I'm not really liking the city on this one though. There is a whole camp of people in the St. George terminal that I have to walk past every evening and two people with a sleeping bag in the foyer of my building that the city has never cared about. Funny how the city is only concerned with where some people sleep.

I hear ya... Tell your friends good luck tomorrow.
You're right in regard to how they concerned they are about how threatened they are about politically motivated 'vagrants' as opposed to the ones they actually have subdued enough to ignore.

Dawg and Rob must be mighty proud of these guys for making their sentiments real at Liberty Plaza.

I wonder if these guys are among the several hundred that were protesting on the courthouse steps when 16 of their fellows were charged with a total of 1500+ crimes including transporting heroin in a squad car to avoid a road block.?

Anyway, up in Boston at lunch time the local news outlets were very confident that there wasn't much more than an 'agreement'm that would come of this:

But as you'll see in the video the city's lawyer basically tries this "let's not address free speech" by saying they shouldn't be here because they have done nothing to threaten the encampment. Having spent now over 10 nights there at this point I can say for certain that most of the nights I have been there, the police make phony announcements and direct verbal threats that "the order is coming tonight". They ARE in fact maintaining a CONSTANT threat ... were this a domestic relationship the cops would have to be 500 feet from us at all times. So the city lawyer's argument is just a bullshit way of saying "Wow civil rights attorneys, I'm fucked if I don't get lucky and deflect the actual issues".
And Willbe in all his dopeyness  should enjoy his day in the sun, since with the filing of the Amicus brief, it sort of puts it in prime position as a precedence issue ... not there of course till someone uses it as such ... but the ducks are in a row. And one day happy-ass will hear on the News that Occupy Oakland, or Occupy Irvine, Or Occupy Wherever says on camera "Your Honor, in the matter of  Occupy Boston vs City Of Boston..... " that's when the starbucks'll spill on his polyester.

But things weren't so smug late in the afternoon after the came back into court and heard a dissertation on constitutional rights to free speech and protected expression...
Even Fox News had a little bad news for their audience....

Occupy Boston gets temporary restraining order against police

BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - A temporary restraining order has been issued on behalf of Occupy Boston prohibiting police from clearing out the protesters encamped at Dewey Square without warning.

Suffolk Superior Court Judge Frances McIntyre ordered the city can not remove protesters or their tents from the encampment without court approval except in an emergency such as fire, a medical issue or an outbreak of violence.

During a special court hearing, lawyers for Occupy Boston cited a First Amendment right to free speech and the occupation of that area is an expression of that.

The protestors want the city of Boston to notify them 72 hours beforehand if police plan to take them out. Not to get their stuff together, but to be able to fight it in court.

However, attorneys for the city argued that they should not have to give advanced warning, citing public safety as a concern.

More available on the usually newless shit hole they call foxnews
