slvemike4u -> RE: Hermie blunders welll (11/19/2011 8:03:11 AM)

I think I like Hermies world better.....our leaders don't actually need to know stuff,they just need to be sort of figureheads while the power behind the "throne" pulls the string.
Do you think Cheney will agree to come back to Washington ?
IIRC a member of Lincolns cabinet suggested to the great man that he assume such a "figurehead" position......Lincoln didnt go for it.
The Cabinet member was,if I'm no having a senior moment ,Seward who,again if memory serves,was quoted upon Lincolns demise as saying"now he belongs to the ages"
Edited to add...just saw in the todays paper that it is the anniversary of Lincolns Gettysburg address delivered in 1863, someone else can do the math on that....haven't had enough coffee yet.....lol.

Tazzy,China has nukes ?
What the fuck,when did this happen ? The world is indeed a scary place..[8|]

To defend Cain,he was refering to China putting nukes on navy boats and on air-craft.

Not to developement of nukes in the 1st place.

His claim(and will also be the claim of the next gop candidate)is that if he`s elected president,he`d be so scary talented that he could keep the Chi-coms from doing that.

slvemike4u -> RE: Hermie blunders welll (11/19/2011 8:21:06 AM)

Will he use the same methods that Mitt will use when he keeps Iran from getting them in the first place.....yanno that scary sort of Republican way of just saying no cause I promised it during the debate [:D]

Owner, there are two different versions as to what "Cain meant".

Editor's note: After we published this item, Cain addressed his statement in an interview with the Daily Caller website. "Maybe I mispoke," Cain said. "What I meant was, China does not have the size of nuclear capability that we have. They do have a nuclear capability."

http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2011/nov/02/herman-cain/herman-cain-said-china-trying-develop-nuclear-weap/

The nuclear carrier excuse wasnt Cain's, it was Block's.

Block and Cain both walked back the statement Wednesday evening within a half-hour of each other, but offered different explanations of what Cain actually meant to say, indicating a communications lapse.

“Yes, they’re a military threat,” Cain said of China on the PBS NewsHour. “They’ve indicated that they’re trying to develop nuclear capability and they want to develop more aircraft carriers like we have. So yes, we have to consider them a military threat.”

In an interview with The Daily Caller’s Ginni Thomas Wednesday, Cain walked back the comment, saying, “Maybe I misspoke.”
“What I meant was, China does not have the size of the nuclear capability that we have. They do have a nuclear capability. I was talking about that total nuclear capability. So that’s what I meant by that,” he explained.

But while Cain was speaking with TheDC, Block was across town telling Fox News Channel’s Brett Baier that when Cain made that comment, “he was referring to the nuclear capability that China was getting for their submarines and their aircraft carriers.”

He has no defense.

I don`t think threatening to bomb China is the way the cons will go with that one.LOL!

Not even in debate!LOL......Walmart will pull their donations!LOL

With a smaller,more Muslim/less-trading-partner-ish country like Iran though,bombing zounzzzz zupper sexzieeee to the gop-un-washed.

slvemike4u -> RE: Hermie blunders welll (11/19/2011 8:31:50 AM)

Neither do his supporters
I can understand a certain level of frustration with business as usual where Washington is concerned,but to go so far as to jump on the bandwagon of one so singularly unprepared for the job,ala Palin or Cain,is dangerous in the extreme.

Owner59 -> RE: Hermie blunders welll (11/19/2011 8:59:46 AM)

Yupper....

We tried "dumber might be better" with bush and it wasn`t better.

There is a con myth that "elitists" are the reason bad things happen in gov. and Cain is appealing to that anti-intellectual narrative.

Folksy, is by definition better than elite.Book learn`n and reading are what elitists do.Superior knowledge,no...........make the ~knowledge~......... is scary.

No reason to defend someone that inarticulate.

If Mr. Pizza Delivery cannot even express himself properly how does anyone expect him to be capable of being President?

We only need to look back to Dubya to see how dangerous it was.

Just ask the families of the dead and wounded in Iraq.

slvemike4u -> RE: Hermie blunders welll (11/19/2011 10:15:13 AM)

To be fair though,Bush presented himself as an actual candidate...sure he came across as folksy and all that but he was never in the same league as a Palin or a Cain.
Bush at least tried to be prepared....the other two celebrate not being in the know as somehow appealing [8|]

He is an idiot.

Plain and simple.

What is it with conservatives that they keep getting enamored of morons, Cain, Palin, Bachmann, Bush?

Prepared for what?

He was Cheney's puppet.

slvemike4u -> RE: Hermie blunders welll (11/19/2011 10:36:46 AM)

Indeed he was RML,but he ran as an actual aspirant to the office....not as a non politician .Which,in my eyes,is what Cain is doing now,and Palin has done in the past.
Believe me I am not putting forth Bush the younger as a scholar....I just don't think he played,certainly not as effectively,the non politician card the way the other two do.

I wanna know if now that Herman has Secret Service coverage, if he'll be entering with a 'big entrance' I suggest a fog machine and "Secret Agent Man" playing loudly in the background.
