Herman Cain struggled to explain his position on President Obama's handling of Libya in an interview with the Journal Sentinel of Milwaukee released Monday, at one point asking if Mr. Obama supported the uprising and suggesting he was having a hard time articulating an answer because he has "all this stuff twirling around in my head."

Video of the interaction is at left. Asked if he agrees with the president on Libya, Cain looks up and says, "OK, Libya." He then pauses for a moment.

"President Obama supported the uprising, correct?" he asks, speaking carefully. "President Obama called for the removal of Qaddafi - just want to make sure we're talking about the same thing before I say yes I agree, or no I didn't agree. I do not agree with the way he handled it for the following reason - nope, that's a different one."

Cain then pauses for about five seconds.

"I gotta go back and see - um, I got all this stuff twirling around in my head," he says. "Specifically, what are you asking me. Did I agree or not disagree with Obama?"

update....The Cain campaign tried to downplay the clip later in the day.

"The video is being taken out of context," Cain spokesman JD Gordon said, according to MSNBC. "He was taking questions for about 30 to 40 minutes on four hours of sleep. He didn't say anything wrong or in accurate; it just took him a while to recall the specifics of Libya."

Gordon added, “It just took him a while to gain his bearings.”

tweakabelle -> RE: Hermie blunders welll (11/14/2011 8:27:58 PM)

Awwww Lucy, give poor Herman a fair go.

If he has to pause to recollect whether Libya is on his pizza home delivery run, that shouldn't be held against him. We can't expect any one to remember every address they deliver pizzas to can we?

Perhaps we should send him a globe (with or without mozzarella and oregano) .......

Though it could be argued that Bush the Dumber proved that one can be President without knowing anything at all about the world beyond the shores of the USA (and not an awful lot about the world inside the USA either ...)

I just saw the clip of this. How can ANYONE consider Cain a legitimate candidate?

Moonhead -> RE: Hermie blunders welll (11/17/2011 3:43:35 PM)

Is it because he is black?

hlen5 -> RE: Hermie blunders welll (11/17/2011 3:46:27 PM)

If it WAS because he is black, wouldn't that be just as racist as disqualifying him because he Is black?

Explain what you meant, please? Were you joking?

Moonhead -> RE: Hermie blunders welll (11/17/2011 3:49:09 PM)

Yep. It's a line from the late Ali G.

THINK ON YER FEET HERMIE

This guy is a complete clown.

And he is the GOP frontrunner that they are counting on to take back the White House?

I'm not sure who is dumber, this idiot or the conservatives that are supporting him.

Winterapple -> RE: Hermie blunders welll (11/19/2011 3:15:22 AM)

What I imagine is twirling in his head:
'Can't agree with Obama. No matter
what, cannot not agree with Obama.
If Obama says the sky is blue I cannot
agree with Obama. I will say I choose
to call it azure. Big government can't
stop me. Where is Libya? Damn. How
did I get in this mess?'
There's a certain pathos about Cain as
there was with Palin.
To paraphrase Fareed Zahar it's not
that they have the wrong answers it's
that they don't understand the questions
they're being asked.
Both pushed into a arena they are not
prepared for by people even more
cynical than they are.

Nope, he just thinks China has not developed nuclear capability yet.

Like bush and Sarah before him,Herman is has now shifted away from hiding how dumb he is to celebrating it,show-casing it.

"Cain ducks N.H. interview, says we need a leader, not a reader"

~~~~~~~~
"I’m often criticized about the fact that I’ve never held public office, and criticized that I don’t know this and I don’t know that and I don’t know that and I don’t know this. You know, a leader doesn’t have to know everything. But a leader needs to know something, and I can tell you what I do know. I know how to surround myself with good people and I know the right questions to ask in order to solve the problem."
~~~~~~~~

Cain brought up the GOP debate on foreign policy two days earlier.

“That’s a tough subject. You don’t want to get your facts mixed up,” he said.

He defended his view that presidents and presidential candidates don’t need to be immersed in the fine print of world affairs – they simply need to be leaders who can surround themselves with the right people and sift through their advice.

“I’m not supposed to know anything about foreign policy. Just thought I’d throw that out,” he said, a dig at his critics.

“I want to talk to commanders on the ground. Because you run for president (people say) you need to have the answer. No, you don’t! No, you don’t! That’s not good decision-making,” said Cain.

How about, you know about Libya,which you debated about several times, over the last days and weeks?

I don`t think it`s Cain`s knowledge base that folks are questioning.

It`s his inability to recall things he debated about just a few days before.

Maybe he should run ads in red states claiming he`d be better to have a beer with than Presdent Obama?[:D]

Tazzy,China has nukes ?
What the fuck,when did this happen ? The world is indeed a scary place..[8|]

tazzygirl -> RE: Hermie blunders welll (11/19/2011 7:53:59 AM)

According to Cain... No.
