If you only knew just how far back it went and who all was involved. Here is a clue

This is why veterans day is meaningless to me, and I served for both the USAsians and the CDF. When Europeans are involved wars are normally based on utter  lies.

Everyone need to start thinking like the people of the Americas and only go to war when women say it is time to do so, for their bodies pay the price in children,  and in their men. Men will fight over a trinket, but you will not hear women call for war unless there is a true need, and when they do all agree with them.

In the late 1970s, some American companies had a policy of NOT hiring Viet-Nam Veterans, alleging that they were all psychos, drug addicts or both.

And there were some companies that had a policy of favoring Vietnam (there is no hyphen, are you sure you're a vet?) veterans, recognizing their leadership and experiences would be beneficial. So what's your point?

Questioning a mans service because you do not approve of how he spells viet nam. This is clearly the most asinine thing you have ever posted.

The name Việt Nam (Vietnamese pronunciation: [vjə̀tnam]) is a variation of "Nam Việt" (南越; pinyin: Nányuè; literally Southern Việt), a name that can be traced back to the Trieu dynasty (2nd century BC).[17] The word "Việt" originated as a shortened form of Bách Việt (百越; pinyin: Bǎiyuè), a word applied to a group of peoples then living in southern China and Vietnam.[18] The form "Vietnam" (越南) is first recorded in the oracular poem Sấm Trạng Trình.[19] It has been found on 12 steles carved in the 16th and 17th centuries, including one at Bao Lam Pagoda in Haiphong that was carved in 1558.[20] Between 1804 and 1813, the name was used officially by Emperor Gia Long.[21] It was revived in the early 20th century by nationalists such as Phan Boi Chau, and most notably by the Viet Nam Quoc Dan Dang (Vietnamese Nationalist Party).[22] The country was usually called Annam until 1945, when Emperor Bao Dai changed the official name back to "Việt Nam".[22] Since the use of Chinese characters was discontinued at this time, the alphabetic spelling is official

just want to wish all my brothers a belated happy veterans day.... welcome home

now lets get the story straight... you people always say its the people on the right that did this and that.... try this on for size...

remember the gulf of tonkin, that was with a democratic president and a democratic congress that put us into the vietnam war....

Marines in unmarked a/c were flying supplies into dien bien pu 1954 Two died.
Eisenhower sends military advisors 1954.

with the biggest lie of the century..... 58 thousand US dead, 2 million cambodians, 3 million vietnamese and maybe 700 thousand hmongs dead over this lie.... seems funny how you people forget in 50 years about who started the war and why...

When the japs surrendered in viet nam they surrendered to the vietnamese so the vietnamese then had plenty of weapons. Gen. gracey (britt) rearmed the japs and sent them after the viet minh.
Harry truman refused to even talk with ho chi minh.
Plenty of blame to go around for both parties of war mongers.
