Hmm, Red Cross, Salvation Army... FEMA...
Now who would YOU rather have helping you out in an emergency?

In an emergency, I'd take all the help, from any agency or group that I could, until my circumstances became such that I no longer needed the help.  That is why when I became disabled, I applied for social security, lived on welfare for 2 years until I got the SSI, and then when I was able to work full time, I went off the SSI.

btw, wish me luck guys.  I applied for a new job today.  Same agency and pretty much same work as I do now, but in the community rather than a residential center.  Better hours.

Erie, I hope the job works out for you:) Best of luck with it. the world needs more people like you!

Who would you turn down help from?

Is that really dumb or what?

Most times, folks in need don`t have such a wide choice.

Really dumb is not understanding the question I posted.

No, really dumb is not getting Owners point.

Having seen the help all 3 provide I'll take FEMA.

Red Cross is great at handing out blankets and coffee. The Salvation Army runs a nice soup kitchen and can be counted on to have plenty of donated clothes.

FEMA are the guys who can put a roof over your head once the emergency shelter closes. They are the guys who can arrange a low interest loan to let you rebuild your home and/or business. They're also the ones you can count on to bring in the food for the Salvation Army's kitchen and the water for the Red Cross coffee.

Oh! Okay. I dunno him, so it just seemed like horrid ignorance. [sm=dunno.gif]

Don't worry, there's definitely that too. :D

For instance, he thinks I'm a guy. *giggle* But that's just the very minutest tip o' the iceburg.

America is a violent government? Why do you hate America? If you dont like it you can always leave. I hear Somalia is great this time of year.

You really need to work on the "troll" thing that you continue to try.

Firm

Would you prefer the generic quote since you obviously hate America. "This is the United States of America, love it or leave it"

Or Bill O'Reilly "if you don’t like this country, get the hell out"

Or Jo Bonner (R-AL), "If you don't like it in America, then you can leave!"

Or Rush Limbaugh "Wouldn't it be great if anybody who speaks out against this country, to kick them out of the country? Anybody that threatens this country, kick 'em out. We'd get rid of Michael Moore, we'd get rid of half the Democratic Party if we would just import that law [from Britain]. That would be fabulous. The Supreme Court ought to look into this. Absolutely brilliant idea out there."

Completely off topic.

I have to say - I always have a hard time bringing myself back to remembering that you are not a man. It has only to do with your avatar. When I see it, it looks like an alien to me, with big eyes and a round head. Not a butterfly. And so, it just seems more in line with a male chosen avatar --- if it were, in fact, an alien.

When I look at it differently, it is clearly a butterfly. But I have to work my brain a little bit to see it that way.

DeviantlyD -> RE: I just adore Stephen (10/1/2011 9:58:54 PM)

I think it's a moth.

Wasn't it you that brought that alien idea up in another thread? ;) I know there was all this discussion about it. At the time I thought of changing avatars, but I got lazy. There weren't any other avatars on here that I liked...and I just couldn't muster up the interest to go hunting for another image...even amongst my own photos.

I like the avatar 'cause it says "study me" on it.

Kaliko -> RE: I just adore Stephen (10/2/2011 4:12:10 AM)

Did I bring it up already? I didn't think so (I don't remember it, anyway.) I struggled with even to write it because I was concerned you would think I was criticizing. Now it seems I've done it twice. Sorry about that. :)

DeviantlyD -> RE: I just adore Stephen (10/2/2011 4:25:34 AM)

Let me find the thread....I don't remember who it was, but the person made the same sort of comments you did so I just thought maybe it was you. ;)

DeviantlyD -> RE: I just adore Stephen (10/2/2011 4:30:33 AM)

Gee, it was easier than I thought to find the thread! And I suggest you read the page of the same thread, just previous to the one linked below, 'cause it is funny!! I am cracking up here. :D

DeviantlyD -> RE: I just adore Stephen (10/2/2011 4:47:10 AM)

I just can't reeesist! Even though I never read his journal. ;)

Fuck me running.  Til reading this, and looking at DD's avatar again, I have thought it was an alien too!

eta oh yeah, I posted the OP pic on Facebook too.

DeviantlyD -> RE: I just adore Stephen (10/2/2011 11:21:32 PM)

It's a moth!! There are words that say "Study Me"!!! Waaaah! I'm a legal alien, not an out-of-this-world alien! *pout pout pout*

'Kay...I'm done now. :)
