You don't want the government to create them and you oppose tariffs on imports so that companies create manufacturing jobs and build and buy American....

What other options you got?

The only option that works. Get the government the fuck out of the way.

I am all for ending some jobs. Have you seen this site, Willbe? http://www.bunnyinspectors.com/

It is a list of candidates. [:)]

If the EU folds, it doesn't matter what is done, there will be another recessionary period.

And if China has its bubble burst, there will certainly be the monster of all recessions.

And if the US goes down again, Canada will be taking an economic  beating too.

servantforuse -> RE: Jobs Plan May Prevent 2012 Recession: (9/28/2011 5:10:09 PM)

Will these be 'shovel ready' jobs like the last time when we wasted 823 billion in a jobs stimulus ? It didn't work then and it won't work this time.

slvemike4u -> RE: Jobs Plan May Prevent 2012 Recession: (9/28/2011 5:17:19 PM)

And you are prepared to tell us just what would or would not have happened absent that stimulus ?

servantforuse -> RE: Jobs Plan May Prevent 2012 Recession: (9/28/2011 5:26:08 PM)

I've heard it all before. The stimulus saved jobs, bla bla bla. Even Obama admitted that there were no 'shovel ready" jobs. We are still at 9 % + unemployment after wasting nearly a trillion dollars. Now he wants to build roads and bridges.?

slvemike4u -> RE: Jobs Plan May Prevent 2012 Recession: (9/28/2011 5:34:08 PM)

You might have heard it all before...but it appears you still don't understand the premise of the question...absent all of that money injected into that economy. How many more jobs would have been lost? More teachers,fireman and policeman laid off ?
And that is just civil service type jobs...oh wait a minute,you don't like those folks,particularly if they are unionized [8|]

servantforuse -> RE: Jobs Plan May Prevent 2012 Recession: (9/28/2011 5:44:21 PM)

WE were told that the nearly one trillion dollars would stimulate new jobs, not save current union jobs. Another Obama lie.

slvemike4u -> RE: Jobs Plan May Prevent 2012 Recession: (9/28/2011 5:47:36 PM)

That post,that premise all add up to one thing...simplicity.Totally ignore reality and view nothing that can not fit on a bumper sticker....it is what I have come to expect from you.
One question was that everything Obama wanted and nothing more ?

You'd prefer 30% unemployment?

servantforuse -> RE: Jobs Plan May Prevent 2012 Recession: (9/28/2011 6:01:33 PM)

Obama is the one with a simple close minded veiw. Throw more money at the problem. Whats another 500 billion ?

farglebargle -> RE: Jobs Plan May Prevent 2012 Recession: (9/28/2011 6:03:37 PM)

Well, the banks just shove the money into their vaults. Bank of America? 30,000 layoffs coming... And don't tell me they're under "too much regulation". They're essentially unregulated as it is.

Just what is the problem with the way Wall Street regulates Congress?

Do you think they need to stiffen up their controls on the legislators some more?

No, we'd prefer the 5-6% unemployment we'd be at if the business cycle had been allowed to run its natural course.

So I heard a British guy analyzing our economy and he said people are whining that the stimulus plan / expenditure didn't product much growth.. but that without it we would have gone into a really deep recession. It's not what it grew but the crash it prevented that is it's success.

FirstQuaker -> RE: Jobs Plan May Prevent 2012 Recession: (9/28/2011 8:21:45 PM)

Actually, the US got out of this thing, easier then I thought they would.

The Fourth Reich and the UK are the ones taking a bigger economic thumping then they should.

Hate to tell you this but things will not get better until your govt stops printing money ....You won't be able to avoid the recession and your headed full tilt into a depression that will make the 30s look like a cakewalk only this time its going to affect the entire planet....Until the people of the US smarten up and vote out your current govt,,,,Get rid of the Federal Reserve System.....All you can do is hang on for the ride and hope you don't starve,,,,,

Only an utter reactionary, anarchist,  or even a Tea Party member ( at least in the US ) would suggest getting rid of those lying, thieving, er, upstanding bankers operating the governmental/banking hermaphrodite called the Federal Reserve.

Notice the money they are printing all claims to be Federal Reserve Notes, not USD, unlike the coinage.

It would be wilder yet, if the US goes back to printing it's own money and disclaims the Federal Reserve, and its presidential series of shin-plasters.

UtterMayhem -> RE: Jobs Plan May Prevent 2012 Recession: (9/28/2011 9:01:35 PM)

Ever wonder why JFK was assasinated....He was in the process of doing exactly that....Reprinting the money and turning it back over to the people and killing off the federal reserve notes....Until sound money is returned the bankers will continue to loot the people,,,Everyone will be slaves...

And unfortunately it is not just the US printing theiir money like fools, the Fourth Reich and the UK are in the thick of it too.

I just saw where the UK is doing some more QE, yet again. Not bad after Brown gave all the gold they had away for a song. And several of the EuroStates have been doing their own creative funding, which has resulted in the Eurozone financial mess that is in the news.

The Anglosphere and the EU are starting to make Zimbabwe look financially responsible.

But in regards to the OP, if the economic house of cards comes tumbling down, there will be little anyone can do about job creation on the governmental level, save open socialism.
