Well, thats all well and fine, but still a pretty fuckin retarded notion. I don't see alot of folks of colour that are going to go flopping like fish on deadliest catch for Romney or Bachmann or whoeverthefuck the republican nominee is given the scumbucketry of the teabaggers rhetoric.

Minorities came out in huge numbers to help elect Obama. Since he has done nothing to help them, I wonder just how many will come out to give him a second term. I'm guessing not so many.

First, to break it down by race just illustrates your racism.

Second, this is a bullshit Fox News talking point which seems to be your only source of information.

Third, what should he have done better?

You're thinking of "Swords"... Deadliest Catch depicts a groups of ex-east coast fisherman getting tossed around the decks of boats in really shitty seas, high as hell on Vicodin

servantforuse -> RE: James Carville on Obama (9/16/2011 10:52:31 AM)

Its not racism. Its a fact. No they won't vote for the republican nominee, they just won't show up in the huge numbers as they did in 2008. They will just stay home.

James Carville is liberal.

Are you really this uneducated in politics while posting on a political board?

Pardon me, but I could give a flying fuck about the political connotations Ron is bringing up here... I am correcting his use of maritime reality shows as a metaphor.

Short answer RML....yes he is [:)]

What the fuck are you talking about? [sm=insane.gif]

What do maritime shows have to do with this topic?

So, hes voted in with lackluster numbers, as opposed to any teabagger or rino or whatever you want to call the republican nominees that will be garnering their home state (and that is gonna be iffy).

servantforuse -> RE: James Carville on Obama (9/16/2011 11:07:28 AM)

Rule, I certainly know that Carville is liberal. He worked for Bill Clinton. He was his campaign advisor in the 1992 election. When the republicans took control of the House in 1994, he advised Clinton to move to the middle or risk losing the 1996 election.

Funny that the one thing Mr. Obama has been accused of doing wrong, is actually being bipartisan. If he kept his bill on health care without 'watering' it down to aplease the conservatives, we would have a much better engineered health industry right now. But, he did not go down the path of 'full speed ahead, the torpedoes be damned!". He has really tried to keep the county from splitting into two polarized ideas on how this country should be run. I disagree with his notion on this. But the guy has the history correct and I can understand why he decided on this course of action. Its rather disappointing that so many conservatives have absolutely failed to understand his reasoning on this particular issue.

How many of the Republican/Tea Party folks in the House and Senate are willing to work on improving the nation with Democrats?

How many of the candidates for the GOP ticket have expressed an honest willingness to work and comprise with Democrats to get the nation on its feet? Even if it might cost them their next election? Wasn't the a major thrust of the mid-term election of 2010; to remove career politicians that dont care what's best for the nation, but only themselves?

mnottertail -> RE: James Carville on Obama (9/16/2011 11:13:09 AM)

He also worked on Hillaries campaign. So........

But if we go by anecdote, (something the right is oft wont to do) the fact that he advises Obama would make Obama a hands down shoe in.

Then why are you and Firm trying to pretend that his criticism of Obama is anything but him not standing up for liberal ideas.

I respect him for compromising but at some point you have to stand your ground.

And I think that was what Carville was saying.

Cherry picking quotes again Firm?

You know Carville is a liberal, and you also know that he was stating that Obama was conceding too much to the Republicans.

I guess you have no clue to what "cherry picking" means, do you, rml?

What I quoted was the first three paragraphs of the article, with a link to the entire article and a video.

But, since you feel like it somehow attacks whatever beliefs you hold, it must be "cherry picking'.

Of course, if I had quoted the entire article, you would be bitching about "flooding us with unnecessary data, so as to hide the meat" or reported me for a copyright violation.

You don't want to learn or discuss rml.  You just want to play bullshit gotcha games.

You're correct in saying that he is a liberal but he is also pragmatic and a VERY damn good political strategist.
If you are a Democrat and Carville gives you advice, it would be an excellent idea to follow it if you want a hope in hell of winning.

Nothing I can do about his baggage. Can't see women, even republican women voting for him for dropping it on his wife while she was sick. If that is his style. what else is he able to do. Actually would be great to have him win the nomination. Would give Democrats a chance to put a stake in the heart of the Right Wing cause we both know he can't shut up

It's not necessarily true that Newt can't overcome his baggage.  It depends on how and what he says and whether or not people believe him about it.

The US public can be pretty good about "forgiving".  Just witness the Clintons.
