I hate fucking Cocksucking Asslicking Nixon Wannabees...

http://thinkprogress.org/politics/2011/08/26/305501/webster-town-hall-watchlist/

quote:

Pierce, who had to undergo chemotherapy, asked Webster a tough question about what would happen to people like her with major preexisting conditions under the Republican budget. She expressed her disappointment in Webster for dodging her question — which apparently was enough to land her on a McCarthy-esque list that pictures her like a criminal.

In another instance, the memo suggests that members of the media question the military service of a 66-year-old Vietnam veteran named Ron Parsell. Parsell told the Orlando Sentinel, “I think it’s pretty weird. Someone asks a legitimate question, and all of a sudden somebody’s got a dossier on you.” Parsell added, “It’s the type of thing they’d do in old Russia.”

Remember the august recess of 2009? Remember how horrible it was that Democratic congresspeople didn't wilt under the stupidest questions and shouted catch phrases? Now we have Republic congresspeople canceling town halls entirely, charging admission to town halls, trying to intimidate their critics etc.

Just another data point.

Considering that the media did a better job of vetting Joe the Plumber than they did Barack Obama, perhaps you should just shut up now, Fargle.

From your link:

While Webster and Griffin are ostensibly making these lists to screen out paid activists, the people they are targeting are regular constituents who have simply spoken up and expressed their disagreement about important policy decisions.

"Regular constituents who have simply spoken up." I like that. It's catchy!

Here's more on this old April story about poor Ms. Pierce's unfortunate experience:
Far Left Ambush Florida Congressman Dan Webster

Republican Congressman Dan Webster held a town hall yesterday in Orlando that quickly deteriorated into “bedlam”, as reported in the local paper. Far Left organizations MoveOn.org and Organize Now, among others, orchestrated a well planned ambush.

    There were about 300 people in attendance at this, the third town hall held by Webster in the past week. The other two were also well attended and totally uneventful. Included in today’s crowd were approximately 25-30 Far Left provocateurs who were instructed in an e-mail to meet in front of the building 30 minutes prior to the start of the event, where talking points would be handed out. Final instructions from the e-mail included;

"When you go inside, spread yourselves around the room so our presence looks as though we have more people. GIVE ‘EM HELL!!!"

And give ‘em hell is exactly what they did. From the very beginning, every time Congressman Webster attempted to speak he was interrupted by vile, disrespectful comments shouted out by the radical Far Left. Webster tried to go over a series of charts showing growing levels of federal spending and debt, but was constantly interrupted by rude, despicable behavior.

Most in the room were just average constituents, many of whom quickly tired of these antics and began shouting back. The opportunity to actually listen to Webster and learn anything about his position or the state of events was lost and many seniors simply gave up and left early.
Tamecka Pierce, "a regular constitutent who had simply spoken up," is/was the President of Organize Now and a former Florida ACORN State President.
The Florida ACORN chapter was riddled with complaints of fraud and improper behavior during Pierce’s time with the organization, so much so that Senator Marco Rubio and senior leaders of the Florida Legislature asked then Gov. Charlie Crist to call for a state-wide investigation into ACORN’s activities.
In September, [2009] 11 ACORN workers were accused of forging voter registration applications in Miami-Dade County during the last election. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the state attorney’s office scoured hundreds of suspicious applications provided by ACORN and found 197 of 260 contained personal ID information that did not match any living person.

Describing Tamecka Price as just a "regular constituent who had simply spoken up" is like describing you as a pleasant fellow, circumspect of speech and ecumenical in spirit.

K.

"think" and "progress" . An oxymoron in the political context.

Arpig -> RE: Ask a Republican tough question, get spied on and put on a watch list... (8/30/2011 8:34:26 PM)

LOL. I think it is hilarious how they capitalize "Far Left".  [:D][:D]

And as far as the actual topic? So what, this really isn't anything new, nor is disrupting an opponent's meeting. Both are time tested political tactics that have been part of the American political scene as long as there has been an American political scene.

It's more than just a little disingenuous of Fargle to be whining about it when the R-side does one, and a likewise for Kirata to be complaining when the D-side does the other.

Both sides do both, and more, and until you guys stop trying to prove the other side is worse and start demanding better from your own side....it's only going to get worse.

cuckyboy4U -> RE: Ask a Republican tough question, get spied on and put on a watch list... (8/30/2011 8:42:43 PM)

that's a republican for you.

whats funny is I didn't need to see this article to know that's how they operate. this isn't news to me, I knew they did stuff like this already, it's who they are as people.

I dont think K was complaining, just schooling FB on the silliness of the OP.

Arpig -> RE: Ask a Republican tough question, get spied on and put on a watch list... (8/30/2011 8:45:52 PM)

That's funny, I make a post saying that both sides do it and you reply with your bit of partisan drivel. Well done!!

I swear, Southron politics is such a circus!![:D][:D]

Aylee -> RE: Ask a Republican tough question, get spied on and put on a watch list... (8/30/2011 8:53:18 PM)

Big deal. As former military I go on to the "possible terrorist" list. Who is not on some sort of list these days?

Arpig -> RE: Ask a Republican tough question, get spied on and put on a watch list... (8/30/2011 8:54:57 PM)

I'm sure I'm on a list or two down there and I haven't been there since you were in diapers.

damn, such good responses that just wont work with a Domme. [:D]

If they are busy making lists, they have no time for creating more regulations! [:D]

Where is Professor de la Paz when you need him?

It certainly isn't Arpig.  Power can corrupt, without regard to party or ideology.  I see that as an excellent reason to keep government limited in scope and power.

Do I need to remind you yet another time of the lack of vetting of Palin and your claims that she would boost McCain to winning the election?

I'm on the pervert list.

That's "claim," singular, RML, and I've told you I was drinking at the time. [:D]   I also thought that photo of Obama choosing to cradle his balls during the Pledge of Allegiance, instead of the usual hand-on-heart, would hurt him worse among blue-collar Dems than it did.  If I was perfect everytime, you fuckers would have to pay to read me.

Do I need to remind you of how many threads you have fled when I brought up Palin's record on corruption with the Oil and Gas thing vs. Obama's with the aquisition of the Rezco Lawn?

Edwynn -> RE: Ask a Republican tough question, get spied on and put on a watch list... (8/30/2011 10:50:08 PM)

The Democrats are our salvation.

Oh yes.

I like the capitalized Far Left thing too, but even more fun is the term "radical Far Left."

Darn. All this time I've been searching for community with "the conservative Far Left," but to no avail. Hmm, maybe "the radical Far Right," ... oooops, yeah sorry, I was asleep the last ten years, but I hear everybody saying "been there, done that."

But in any case, good to know that democracy-oriented organizations (even if inarguably lefty, no argument here), are considered "radical" now.

Interesting.

I have been shopping for a '68 Chicago Democratic Conention babe myself, so I am always looking for articles that invoke the terms  'Far Left' or 'radical' as often as possible.

you're starting to see the fucking light, the problem is that you can't do that, you can't keep it limited, it will always fucking grow and expand. it is the nature of the beast. so you need to kill the fucker, it is the only option compatible with being free.

what you are arguing about is how much freedom do you think is appropriate to surrender in order to insure yourself a comfortable and safe life. trading freedom for safety is a fucking trap, what was it franklin said? "he who gives up freedom for safety deserves neither". this is because as soon as you do that, and you are safe, a new threat will appear and voifuckingla! there goes yet a little more freedom - witness 9/11 and the fucking patriot act.

i'm not saying the government was behind 9/11, but it's first reaction to the attack was to demand more fucking power and chip away at your freedom. that is what governments do.
