I have to tell you folks, I just finished reading "The Soprano State", the topic is New Jersey and it's overiding and crushing corruption that, there has become an institution. I have no great love for much in the way of Republican policies, but I also have to say that as screwed up as NJ is and the costs involved in how the state actually operates, I have no idea how it isn'already bankrupt. While Christie served as US Attorney, the man really was an effective legal force in efforts to put a stop to what is without doubt the most screwed up state in the union. The taxes invovlved to pay off the corrupt pols on both sides of the political spectrum alone is enough to break the bank. After Florio, Whitman, McGreevy and a few hundred years of institutionalized corruption, a user fee may be the only way to keep the place afloat and hopefully there is no patronage jobs involved in collecting the fees. Best advice for those in New Jersey, MOVE!!!! Do it quickly, GET OUT!...as a citizen of that fucked up mess of a state, you are akin to the teenage girl in a horror film who hears a noise, and she just can't stop herself from finding out what caused it. You are going to get killed, it is just financial instead of the hack him with a pick axe death! The book would be unbelievable as fiction, but as non-fiction it is just a bit scarey!....MOVE...NOW!
