we've had threads on the best beers, where we could recommend our faves to fellow cmers. but i think it's more important to avoid bad beer than to try good beer. so what's shittiest fucking swill you ever had the misfortune to drink? for me, it was this vile shit called dow. fuck it was baaaaad! stay the fuck away from it, and if anybody offers you one, consider that person your enemy for life.

Any of the major "breweries" are shitty beer. We are living in the golden age of micro brewing. Not matter where you live in the US there is quality beer to be enjoyed. The thing is, you can't get it for 10.00 a 12 pack. Like anything else good beer requires good ingredients. You can expect toy pay anywhere between 9 and 12 bucks for a 6 pack. For something really special it can go to 14- 16 bucks per. Also, many excellent beers are sold only in 22oz. bombers. I just had a bomber of Three Floyds Apocalypse Cow. It was 11.00 As it is about 10% above, this is not beer for swilling but for savoring. If you google "craft beer" for you area you will probably find a bar that serves it. That is the best way to sample different styles and see what you like.

I completely disagree about Arrogant Bastard. I find it delicious. Stone Brewing has a number of wonderful beers. If you don't like IPA's you won't like it. I would recommend you try Belgian styles in that case. Or give Victory "Prima Pils" a shot.

Everything you see nationally advertised. Is there REALLY a difference between Miller Lite and Bud Light?.... really? Here is a hint, Miller advertises a spiral shaped bottle that lets the beer "flow" more easily. I assume it's so you don't have to taste it.

yum.. Belgian whites... I forgot to mention Miller as a yuck beer.. ESPECIALLY the lite. Corona light.. WTF?? at my old job the housekeepers would bring anything left in the in-room fridges down to the laundry room. I got a LOT of free beer that way. I would invariably leave anything labeled light/lite, discovered that I am not overly impressed with the Shocktop brand, or the Landshark brand. (it amazed me, being an Air Force brat, how many of the military types drank Bud light/Miller lite.. what happened to the hard partyin' armed forces?? LMAO!!)

Sakone is wrong... Genny is a good beer. As for the worst beers... Bud is near the top as is Old Milwaukee but the abolutely worst beer in the history of the world has to be Meisterbrau. I'm not even sure if they make it anymore (wouldn't surprise me) as I've not seen it in stores for several years. How bad was it? Let me put it this way: If you held a gun to my head and gave me a choice of drinking a can of Meisterbrau or a gallon of moose piss that has been sitting out in the sun for three days... Well... I'd probably drink the Meisterbrau... but I'd think about it for a moment.

Black Label, National (Bohemian), Scheafer, Rolling Rock of course and anything with a fruit taste or heaven forbid...added. Cybersluts, the lime was just to keep the bugs away...not for taste. I forgot, Milwaukee's Best and yes, I wouldn't pour Bud Light into the ground...it would just kill my grass.

The worst I ever had was something called "Dunk's German Style" brewed in Auburndale FL. This was way back in '79 and the trauma has stayed with Me to this day. I mean if you have been working in the South FL summer sun all day and someone hands you a cold one and it is so nasty you can't drink it...................... Another really bad one was Rheingold extra light. It wasn't the taste so much as after My room mate and I had killed a case in like 90 mins we looked at each other and I asked "You got a buzz yet?" "No, you?" We shrugged and figured out how they had gotten rid of the calories. The stuff must have been like 1.5%. To those who don't like Arrogant Bastard. Well, you just cant handle it. [8D] ETA worst imported beer. Panache from France. The shit tasted like Ginger ale. they need to stick to wine.

Meisterbrau!! eeeeeeeee!! I think y'all have hit the lowlights. Dad is in this Miller High Life phase and I CANNOT break him of it, so essentially I have no readily available beer. I don't drink enough of it to rate buying it. [>:]

Lance, I remember drinking Meister Brau in the mid 80's in miami because I couldn't afford anything better. Maybe it was a regional thing.

You wanna know why the micro-brews taste better? Miller Lite at one point contained several ingredients not normally found in beer, including manufactured chemical additives. The Center for Science in the Public Interest reported in 1982 that Miller Lite contained propylene glycol alginate (a seaweed extract), water, barley malt, corn syrup, chemically modified hops extracts, yeast, amyloglucosidase, carbon dioxide, papain enzyme, liquid sugar, potassium metabisulfite, and Emka malt (a food coloring.) That "at one point" is 1982...... but, but, doesn't mean that in 2011 it's any different. LOL!

I agree with Hilly.. it (or someone using the same name) was available at least into the mid to late 80s. It was available in MI when I lived there (early 80s) and I swear it was available in TX/CA in the late 80s.
