Not in the least bit amazed. You have one judge who, at least in your link, was never accused of any influence, and one case a couple of years ago. 1 doesnt quite fit "how many judges". OOh lookie. More bullshit.

He HAS been accused. Due to small town politics he has gotten away with it. The other was all I could find in 3 seconds or less with google.

I'm sure that if I chose to waste say 2 more minutes proving you were full of shit, I could come up with more judicial malfeasance.

You asked for facts, you got em.

Couple of Penn Judges were indicted for taking kickbacks from the for profit to send kids to lockup, by example, CO were sexual scandals in the womans prison for profit...lots more.......

Kids for Cash

The "Kids for cash" scandal unfolded in 2008 over judicial kickbacks at the Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Two judges, President Judge Mark Ciavarella and Senior Judge Michael Conahan, were accused of accepting money from the co-owner and builder of two private, for-profit juvenile facilities, in return for contracting with the facilities and imposing harsh sentences on juveniles brought before their courts in order to ensure that the detention centers would be utilized.[1][2] Ciavarella and Conahan pleaded guilty on February 13, 2009, pursuant to a plea agreement, to federal charges of honest services fraud and conspiracy to defraud the United States (failing to report income to the Internal Revenue Service, known as tax evasion) in connection with receiving $2.6 million in payments from managers at PA Child Care in Pittston Township and its sister company Western PA Child Care in Butler County.[

Should prisoners work if they are physically able? HELL YES. Credit them a couple of dollars a day to be given upon release. That way, they will have a "grubstake" and won't have to steal to eat their first free meal.

As they do in the prison in my county, which is state-run.

I never claimed an amazing number of cases. I only claimed it has happened and documented it.

FACTS

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/02/13/us/13judge.html?_r=1&hp

"judge, Mark A. Ciavarella Jr., and a colleague, Michael T. Conahan, appeared in federal court in Scranton, Pa., to plead guilty to wire fraud and income tax fraud for taking more than $2.6 million in kickbacks to send teenagers to two privately run youth detention centers run by PA Child Care and a sister company, Western PA Child Care.

While prosecutors say that Judge Conahan, 56, secured contracts for the two centers to house juvenile offenders, Judge Ciavarella, 58, was the one who carried out the sentencing to keep the centers filled.

“In my entire career, I’ve never heard of anything remotely approaching this,” said Senior Judge Arthur E. Grim, who was appointed by the State Supreme Court this week to determine what should be done with the estimated 5,000 juveniles who have been sentenced by Judge Ciavarella since the scheme started in 2003. Many of them were first-time offenders and some remain in detention. "

You would be amazed how many judges have a vested interest in 'counseling services".

Counseling services is a weeeee bit different from 'prison for pay'.

There's a big difference between nukes and prison hunky. If a private firm can do the job as well and do it more cheaply, i say have at it.

there is a difference between private corporations and government as well.

Oh wait thats the way it "USED" to be, before the courts got a hold of it.

People locally were pretty upset over the Scranton thing.   Even the news outlets were  distressed here.
