Status: offline 		I don't generally follow the media hoopla about movie or TV stars. But does he look quite that aged in other pictures? I ask because it's always possible to take a few pictures (depending on lighting, angles, post-processing) that make the subject look either better or worse than he/she does in real life. And most celebrity-related media generally have no qualms about running pictures that might generate hype/controversy/discussion.

If you really want to see how bad he was looking, search on youtube for a few of the short video clips he put out a few months ago. I think he has probably has some work done, in the recent lull in Charlie crazy, to be able to continue employment. Orrrrr, he just found some better drugs!

I doubt anyone would look anywhere near as well as he does if they'd done what Charlie has.

Let's face it, it's a freaking miracle he's even still alive. And an even bigger miracle he's clap-free (so we're told by Charlie).

It’s also important to establish a baseline; Charlie was (so I’m told) a very good looking fellah to start with, back in the day. Were the rest of those folk saying “wow I look younger than him!” equally attractive to start with? I mean young-looking ugly is still ugly. That's not aimed at you (since I don’t know you) or indeed anyone else in particular, BTW, just a general observation.

Status: offline 		I don't think Charlie is ugly now.  Older isn't ugly, it is just older.  That's how I see it anyway, but I've always been attracted to older guys.  He's still not a bad looking man, even if he does look rode hard.

I'm also not sure Charlie needs anyone's pity ... he seems to be having a whale of a time. Not my sort of thing, granted, (well, not the rampant drug taking, for a start) but he appears pretty cheery on it.

I should also imagine he's much more entertaining company* than the legions of finger-wagging doom-sayers who seem so fascinated by him, while decrying any interest in him.

He's a hell-raiser of the old school. I for one think he'll probably burn out early, but then he'll have provided entertainment to many while doing so. The world needs its share of such people; life would be so much duller without them. And many a hell-raiser has reformed themselves and gone on to a ripe old age. Peter O’Toole, Richard Harris, (Sir) Anthony Hopkins, to name but three. There’s hope for the lad yet :)

*I don't think I'd want him in my house though ... I can't help thinking he'd be heavy on the breakages front.

Charlie Sheen was hot when he was younger....

I like Charlie Sheen. I do not think he is crazy. I think he is eccentric (which is what we call happily nutzo people who are self supporting... nay, overwhelmingly successful ).

Status: offline 		I would venture to say on a good day he is a helluva good time, the life of the party. Probably a decent enough friend also. Just not anyone I would want to rely on or live with.

Unfortunately, I don't find him attractive at all. Not the young Charlie or the old, rode hard, Charlie.

Exactly. What was he on? Something in the order of 2 mil per episode? I mean there's "high functioning" and then there's high functioning.

For a drunken druggie porn-star-fucking hooker-booking "failure" that's not doing badly. Plus, and this is what differentiates him from the legions of boring, self-destructive Hollywood types of today, he was bloody entertaining while melting down; anyone who can describe themselves as "chock full of win" (or indeed, can refer to themselves in the 3rd person with not a hint of irony) clearly hasn't got both oars in the water, and probably doesn't give two figs either way.

I seem to recall his father was something of a booze-hound in his formative years too, and now he's an upstanding member of the Hollywood elite, with over 60 arrests to his name (at protest rallies - if you look on the BBC web site or I believe also iTunes you can download Martin's "Desert Island Discs" recording, which is charming) so Charlie may be "down" (if you can call being a multi-millionaire loon "down") but he's not quite out yet.

Were he to visit I would certainly keep him away from the cutlery drawer, that's for certain.

Allowing him to feed any fish I might have would also be right out, and I wouldn’t leave domestic animals in his care either.

Apart from that, bring it :)

I don't know, to me he looks like a guy in his late 40's going grey and getting wrinkles. I find it hard to differentiate between old people.

On the other hand, hey! If that's the case, We'll look damn good for 60 through 70's if we look like that! So good! I look forward to looking great at 70!

Status: offline 		Personally I think he looks way older than 46. I wouldn't go as far as to say he looks in his 70's but looks at least a decade older IMHO. He still has his hair but he has that dried out leathery old man look which contrasts hugely with the Sheen of even a few years back who still seemed quite youthful. That was what struck me when I saw his pic in the OP.

True but we're talking Hollywood looks here with plenty of cosmetic surgery, one of the reasons why I really like guys like Clooney and Brad Pit (I believe they are in the same age range as Sheen but don't seem to have had surgery), they do look a good deal healthier and better plus they do have distinctive faces. Sheen might be nuts, but he's not exactly ugly, look at Jack Nicholson, never one for good clean living, not conventionally attractive but the guy just oozed sex appeal.

You know I think the whole Formula One stuff has become a bit boring, thank heavens for guys like Button, aren't rockstars, movie stars and racing drivers supposed to be slightly bad boys? I recently read a biography about James Hunt, he did live it up some, no way that a team would take him on now, the sponsors would possibly think him too much of a liability, but if you compare him to Mr. Clean and Boring Schuhmacher, what a freaking difference. For a while there was a Finish driver Kimi something, who was an "old style" guy like Hunt, he quit F1, shame really, it was entertainment and it is the entertainment industry not freaking Boy Scout meeting.

People might bitch how Keiff looks, but his looks were never what earned him millions, it was his genius guitar playing and he was awesome in Pirates of the Caribbean, played Johnny Depp against the wall, which is not a small feat, and if you take old Keiff and compare him to Joan Rivers, I bet Keiff had a lot more fun and while he might look old, he also looks "real" and not like a product of cosmetic surgery. Seriously prefer that to all the surgically overstretched, sanctimonious actors and musicians who preach good clean living, they don't look real to me, they look like they're out of a Japanese cartoon, too cute and too clean.
