Have you ever caught yourself calling your Master, "Master" or "Sir" in public around people who might not understand the lifestlye?

A while back I was with a man (not a dom) but I quite often called him "Daddy", that was just my pet name for him in private. We were out in public one day and I saw something that excited me so I said "Daddy! Daddy! Look at this!" I didn't realize what I had called him until I saw the bizarre confused looks on people's faces. [sm=Groaner.gif]

I've called him Sir i think once or twice without ever blinking. just seems to come naturally to me for him and i don't think anyone has ever blinked an eye but then i've never payed much attention.

Years ago (25+) I had a friend who had a kid, and she was stuck for a sitter for an afternoon so I volunteered. She gave me a few bucks to buy the girl some candy at the corner store. So we go to the store, and she's wondering if there's enough money to get what she wants, so she tugs at my sleeve and says "Can I have this too....(insert long pause)....what's your name again Mister?"

Talk about some weird looks. [:D][:D][:D]

When I was with my late husband, I never called him by name. Ever. Not in public, not in private. It was always Master.

The one and only time I ever used his name was when we were married...and I had to be reminded what his name was...very embarrassing. [:o]

It's Daddy in private or public. I've only gotten a strange look once, from a young man behind the meat counter once. No one else seems to have paid any attention. Not even my children or grandchildren have paid any attention to what I call him.

I call my Husband "Daddy" almost all the time, we got some odd looks until we started producing offspring, now no one seems to notice.

I use double entendres/code names for public use. My last unsuccessful candidate was adamant about no public play, and I assured him I feel the same. He became VERY excited during a vanilla date, and said, 'OoooOOOh, MISTRESS!1!!' just as the very attractive server brought our coffee. The server didn't blink, but he proceeded to gossip a LOT with the girl at the cash, and they eye-balled us closely the rest of the evening.

FR ~ My friend calls her husband Daddy all the time. I don't believe they are D/s - she knows I am and we've talked about sex and relationships openly and she's never shared that. But..she calls him Daddy. ALL the time.

And it makes me cringe. Is that hypocritical?

Oh....wait....she's married to my brother. Maybe that's why it makes me cringe. Ew.

people tend to look at me funny in public anyways because I always tend to find something weird to say without meaning to, whether vanilla or bdsm related.  I'm learning it's best to stick to one of the golden rules- be seen and not heard.  I must work on keeping my mouth shut.

I call N Sir all the time in public. No one bats an eye. I have called him Master and Daddy a few times which has made me blush but again no one else seemed to give a shit.

Had that happen to me standing in line at the grocery store. The girl I was dating at the time slipped up and called me daddy. It kind of turned me on because she looked young enough to be my daughter anyways. And I know when she noticed the people observing us, she was turned on by it too. :) Just a different spin on it...

For the most part this does not happen with us as we keep the BDSM "under lock and key". (Yep, that's worth an eye-roll.)

Anyway, I was in the car riding with My Lord and his UM. We were talking about something and I got a bit "lippy" [;)] as he calls it and he gave me a look and I apologized and used "My Lord".

Thankfully, it happened during Ren Fest season, plus I had been reading one of my smutty, romance books so...it really did not cause much of an issue.

But still, woops!

Yes.....no-one really cares or is remotely interested, anymore than I am in them.There's never been any bizarre or confused faces. People generally don't care that much in the UK.

I think the only reason people looked at us is because there IS a 13 year age difference between us and he looks his age and I looked young (I have filled out a bit after having a few pregnancies). 
We actually got a hostess to believe he was my father once.  We wanted to eat at a restaurant that happened to have a bar in it and you had to be either over 21 or with a parent or guardian to get in after 6pm (to be clear, this is a restaurant, we were going there for dinner, it was 6:30 or so).  Well, I was only 20 so we convinced the hostess he was my father so we could get some dinner.

I use Master out in public all the time but usually in sotto voce.
However, with family members, either mine or His I use his name.

since Daddy is Puerto Rican i call Him Papi in public.... Daddy at home.... although i did call him Master in front of His father once.... i about died but His dad thought i was being a smartass

Mine usually call me Sir in public. Actually, I'm having a difficult time remembering if they ever don't. No one even seems to notice, except for one time when grocery shopping one lady did notice when he asked, "May I please get some Lucky Charms, Sir?" and came over at an appropriate moment to compliment him on his manners and me on how well he was trained. He blushed a bit but was proud as a peacock the rest of the night. LOL After that, there was no way I could say "No.", not that I would anyway, unless it was like, the day before pay day and it had been a particularly expensive month. Or if he'd been a little bit of a handful that day because of too much sugar already. [:D]
