I cant find a list of states that do.   PA, and IL do not.

NE does.

No but they should. Cats are just as likely to carry rabies as any other carniverous or omniverous mammal.

To be fair, raccoons have the highest rate of rabies of all animals I know.
But yes, cats should be vaccinated and should not be allowed to run around free. Tags would allow animal control officers to fine offenders.

they also help you get your pet back -- licensed pets in NE get a free ride home if they're lost.

The PA dog license- is just that.  You do not have to prove a rabies shot.

Most states hunky, they won't issue a license without immunization. It's simultaneous at the vet office.

What kinda license are ya talking about?

A Pet DMV license????
Not getting YinYang one. Next thing he'll be taking the car to his local "nip dealer".

*snort*  love the new pic, Kitty!

my kids have their shots, but no tags... that cost extra in FL.  I dunno about GA.  but since they are strictlty indoor kids, I havent done any checking...

No, Kansas does not require a license. However, Lawrence has a leash law, so no kitties outside without a leash. Mine are indoor cats so it is not an issue.

LadyPact -> RE: Does your state require license for cats? (6/30/2011 1:52:10 AM)

Not exactly a license, but you would be surprised at the requirements we had to satisfy just to move them here.

GreedyTop -> RE: Does your state require license for cats? (6/30/2011 1:54:45 AM)

I wouldnt be surprised if the requirements were similar to moving overseas...

LadyPact -> RE: Does your state require license for cats? (6/30/2011 2:11:24 AM)

That's it exactly.  The same requirements as an overseas tour because we crossed through Canada.  Very insightful of you.
