What is your ideal tempature inside your home ?

mine is 85 degrees, but i can't get anyone to agree with me.[>:]

WinsomeDefiance -> RE: The Thermostat (6/10/2011 10:26:27 PM)

I never really pay much attention to the thermostat, although I did threaten to super glue it to 68 a few times when my kids kept kicking it up in the 80's!

ResidentSadist -> RE: The Thermostat (6/11/2011 12:03:15 AM)

74 degrees is good around here.

LadyPact -> RE: The Thermostat (6/11/2011 12:34:00 AM)

Roughly seventy.  I'm afraid I'm with your housemates on this one, Fae.  Your setting of eighty-five would be too hot for Me.

FelineFae -> RE: The Thermostat (6/11/2011 1:00:41 AM)

i heart my space heater. It's June and i want to be nekkid.

soul2share -> RE: The Thermostat (6/11/2011 1:39:05 AM)

Fae.....really....REALLY???....85?????  Are you living in the Arctic Circle?  Here, it's 78 in the summer, and windows open the rest of the year, yes, even in winter......I didn't even turn the heat on but maybe a dozen times last winter, and even then, it was just to take the chill off.  Any time it's warmer than 50 during the day in the off-summer months here, my windows are open, and I'm still running around nekkid!  Well, granted, the blinds are down..don't want to frighten the neighbors or the birds in the trees......but they are open.

sunshinemiss -> RE: The Thermostat (6/11/2011 3:37:33 AM)

Not a clue.  I used to know Farenheit, and now I'm living in Celsius over here, and I never know what the temp is.  When somebody asks, I'm like... "It's hot, that's all."

twistedwillow -> RE: The Thermostat (6/11/2011 3:45:50 AM)

Sunshinemiss, Celsius is very easy to understand, 0 = freezing point, and 100 = boiling point and, for me, a nice day is 20 to 25 degrees.
Though most people tend to prefer it a little warmer.

sunshinemiss -> RE: The Thermostat (6/11/2011 3:50:09 AM)

Hey willow -
Yep, I get the 0 and 100 (which makes TOTALLY good sense to me!).  It's the other stuff.  Today was a beautiful day.  Oh heavens was it beautiful.  I spent hours walking around and getting a bunch of projects done in the sun.  How warm was it?  I don't know.  It was yummy warm.  I wore a sleeveless blouse and I didn't need a coat.  What temp is that?  Hey!  maybe I ought to make a thermostat that says stuff like...
sweating like a pig
dang hot
just right
getting chilly
cold
my nipples just broke off.

Think it would sell?

calamitysandra -> RE: The Thermostat (6/11/2011 3:52:01 AM)

I like it set at 72 to 74, only the bathroom is kept as hot as 85.
But then, I am not a fan of temperatures over 77 outside either. I can deal, but I would rather not.

calamitysandra -> RE: The Thermostat (6/11/2011 3:54:49 AM)

I would buy one.
The sprogs have one that clings to windows. Instead of numbers it has children dressed in stuff appropriate for the temperature. From  bathing suit to coat, hat, muffler, and mittens.

0ldhen -> RE: The Thermostat (6/11/2011 3:55:41 AM)

Good morning Divine Fae......sorry....but 70 is about where I like it best.

barelynangel -> RE: The Thermostat (6/11/2011 5:41:59 AM)

Good god. 85 degrees in your HOUSE?   Summer is NOT my thing when i have to deal with the heat lol.   In my own house its usually aound 70 or even 68.  People at the office always yell at me lol cause i sneak around turning down the temp.  I am always like HEY, when its cold you can at least put on a sweater, when i am hot all i get to do is sweat. Blah

grins, thermostat warns at work are always fun lol.

angelikaJ -> RE: The Thermostat (6/11/2011 6:06:25 AM)

Fae, is all of you cold or is it mainly hands and feet?

If you get very cold and blue fingers and toes you may have something called Raynaud's Syndrome or Raynaud's Disease.
There are medications that can make it better and there are medications that can make it much worse.
If  you have cold, blue fingers and toes you should discuss it with your doctor.

As for being cold, dressing in lightweight layers should help.

My thermostat is usually kept at 58F in the winter although if I am very cold I will bump it up to 64.

I am most comfortable when the temperature is around 75... I like it when the weather is sunny and 68--> 78 or so.
I get hot over that... .

twistedwillow -> RE: The Thermostat (6/11/2011 6:54:28 AM)

Hehe, I'd totally buy one Sunshine :D

Probably much easier to understand than the numbers, on either C or F

Edited to add that I just did a conversion of C to F, and my 20 to 25 C works out to 68 to 77 F

littlewonder -> RE: The Thermostat (6/11/2011 7:24:52 AM)

between 76 and 80.

When it falls below 75 I start to feel like I'm freezing and my body starts to ache.

When it falls below 74 my nips start like hell ever since I had a reduction.

Right now my house is at 78 and it's perfect.

I'd buy it! [:D][:D][:D][:D][:D]

85 would give me heatstroke. I'm pretty comfy at 70 right now....central air was the best investment I ever made last summer.

GreedyTop -> RE: The Thermostat (6/11/2011 8:38:57 AM)

for me it depends on outside temp and humidity.

the higher the humidity, the cooler I need it in the house.

GENERALLY:  I like it about 73 so I can sleep.. if for some reason that seems too cool, I can pull on a long sleeved shirt to be comfy.

(edited to add a bit I accidentally deleted)
