pahunkboy -> Salt tablets? (6/8/2011 5:30:06 PM)

Man oh man.  I am not happy.  So I buy salt tablets thinking it is iodine- not thinking.  I bought 4 bottles.  When I went to take one- I see this is not what i WANTED.     Gas to too expensive to go get the refund on the 3 un-=opened bottles- which would come to $1.50 total.

I was thinking that maybe they could be of use some other way- like maybe washing dishes.

Any ideas?

The store has something like a 5 day - return thing.  So the return would not be possible when I do get back there in 2-3 weeks.  I hate to waste money.  I asked the neighbor is she wanted them.

A few of the kids are on soccer teams- do sports payers use these?

I could also give them away on freecycle.

Termyn8or -> RE: Salt tablets? (6/8/2011 5:45:40 PM)

You got told by who to open up you wallet ? There are only about three places you can get truly real salt. We've been through all this. How much money did you waste ?

And if it is refined it does not have to be iodized, the iodine occurs naturally. If some shitwit is telling you about radiation, unrefined salt is not the way to go. If exposed to radiation you must FLOOD the body with iodine to cleanse the thyroid of iodine that is been exposed to radioactivity with iodine that has not. I can't make it any more basic than that.

Why the fuck bother asking after you have bought something ? This pisses me off in alot of people. YOU jump and then it is MY problem to fix it. Not you personally, but people in general. "I bought an Edsel", shit like this.

You bought it now throw it out like every other thing you have ever bought or ever will.

Term,   I am out of $2.   For that I now have 4 bottles of salt tabs- each with 100 of them in it.

Hill-  when I am in a store- I just want to get out.  I grab stuff and on this trip I spent $65.    I also bought multiple vits, antacid, laxatives, sinus tabs,  peroxide, rubbing alcohol,  5 cans of nuts, produce (bananas, oranges, grapes, lettuce, 2 cucumbers, celery and onion) , 2 packs of cheese, 10 large chocolate bars, 2 boxes of cereal,  3 loafs of earth grains bread,  16 lbs of cat food, 10 lbs of cat litter, flea spray.

playfulotter -> RE: Salt tablets? (6/8/2011 5:59:26 PM)

People eat too much salt anyway.....crush them up and put them in your salt shaker?  or feed them to some cows in a field?  save them for winter to melt some ice on your driveway?  I don't know otherwise...ha ha

littlewonder -> RE: Salt tablets? (6/8/2011 6:01:48 PM)

If you hate shopping in person so much why not do it online or have someone else shop for you or shop from a store that delivers? I know people with social anxiety disorders who do this.

Seems like it would save you a lot of money and troubles if you did this.

Oh I agree.   My neighbor and I eat dinners together.  She is 77 and that generation add salt and pepper to everything.  She cooks bland- but only for me.

// I forgot I also got 4 bags of pretzels.

That surplus store is hit or miss.  I regret not buying enough of the antacid pills when they had the huge bin of everything.      Marked down to $.0.50.    I can buy $100s of OTC/ and vit supplements cheap.   I get what I can there- then pay retail for stuff I can not buy there.

Why not simply wait until you go back to the area the store is in to get your refund, unless you do not go in that direction but rarely.

I like this idea.   Thanks.   I have when I can.  I will do the research- say on socks or a weed wacker, or widget - then even if I go to the store I know what I am looking for.

I live in a rural area- so grocery stores do not deliver.

I try to go when they are not crowded.   I also - for retail will shop at the smaller store nearby-  instead of the big store -- so that helps.   They stopped carrying earth grain breads at the closer store- so  I bought some to freeze.  It does ok thru the freeze thaw cycle.

I also got lettuce, mushrooms, carrots and grapes.

Ok-  I put the packages and receipt into a bag- so that it is easy to find.  I am glad I posted here-  as I see the store has updated their website.   Had email updates.

I could make a list of a few items and call to see if they have them in yet... the salt tabs I opened I do not expect to return.

I was wanting some of that.

littlewonder -> RE: Salt tablets? (6/8/2011 6:43:36 PM)

I haven't seen iodine in stores in forever. My mom used to always buy mercurochrome. Haven't seen that in stores since I was a kid.

pahunkboy -> RE: Salt tablets? (6/8/2011 6:49:16 PM)

Term,  it was not worry over a nuke accident- that made me want some.  It is the existing thyroid hypo that I have.

I am on Levothyroxine, a t4 pill.  I have managed to also get a t3 pill-CYTOMEL 25 MG----- but that is not an official part of treatment. So I stopped taking it.

peachgirl -> RE: Salt tablets? (6/8/2011 7:20:22 PM)

try a health food store for iodine.

Termyn8or -> RE: Salt tablets? (6/8/2011 7:27:02 PM)

"And if it is refined it does not have to be iodized, "

MAJOR CORRECTION.

If it is UNrefined.

Here's the deal. You either take the chemicals they make or you don't. There is no halfway. I am adhering to my tenets and my health is steadily improving, both in mind and body. There is no halfway, you take it or you don't. If you want any meaningful advice from me, you take my way. You go the other way, you are relegated to the advice of others.

I am not going to recommend Valvoline 25W50 when you are going to pour a shitload of additives in it. You take the whole advice or you don't when it comes to certain things. Other things are different. Basic things like getting your head out of the donut box, cookie jar etc. But if you have problems you want to solve for real, you don't even watch any ads, you don't even want their input.

But I don't know shit, because people are burning their shit up on drugs. Prescription drugs, and their bodies are still not getting what they need. That is their fucking problem. But I don't know shit, although a year or so ago I couldn't hardly walk, and now I am about to start jogging and working out again.

Your choice. You keep up with pharma, you are theirs. And any pill is phrama.

Take it or leave it.
