MaxsBoy -> Name my dog please! (6/8/2011 3:20:27 PM)

We picked out our new addition today.  He won't come home until after we move, but he is officially ours and we're starting to get ready for him.  He's such a handsome little guy, and very strong!  We need suggestions for a strong name for him.  So far we've thought of Bruno, Dexter, and Ajax.  Any other ideas?

Ah...he is beautiful, with those ears, I vote for Gizmo.

What a cutie pie!

Indiana Bones

Bones, James Bones (better with a black dog, though)

And in honour of Middle Child, who wants to name every animal addition to our household this, regardless of gender, or type of animal: Eisprinzessin (Ice Princess).

I have always thought it important to wait until they are home and then they might share their name with you.

Name him "Dammit". Before he grows our of his puppiness, you will call him that dozens of times anyway.

peachgirl -> RE: Name my dog please! (6/8/2011 4:33:54 PM)

Whatever you do, don't name him Buddy. Afterward he could become Nobody!

Seriously, I like Bruno. He looks like a Bruno.

No problem. Your dog shall be named "Please". Any other requests?

What a cutie!  I would name him Butterscotch!

Edited to add...then for short you could call him "Butters" my favorite character from South Park...ha ha

How about Tyr, Odin, Thor, or Loki? Definitely looks like a Loki [;)]

Except for the ears (which are hilarious), he looks very much like the girl I adopted almost 20 years ago. Her name was Nala, so I suggest Simba for this guy.

Either that or Murphy, after Murphy's Law. He looks like a youngster, and young pits have a way of making things go wrong when they get excited [:D]

That is a very handsome animal.  Seems like a very masculine name is in order for a macho looking fella like that one.  "Bruno, Dexter, and Ajax" seem much better than Perceval, Nigel or Sedgewick.

Some names that come to mind are Achilles, Wulfrick, Zeus, Thor, Hunter, King, Shain, Bosco, Buck, Butch, Cujo or Duke.

LinnaeaBorealis -> RE: Name my dog please! (6/8/2011 5:12:58 PM)

I'm in the wait til he comes home & he'll tell you his name crowd. When I got Spike the Amazing Wonder Dog, I thought his name was Buddy & even got him a tag that said that. But he wouldn't answer to it. And one day I looked at him & said Spike & he paid attention.

I also called him Sprinkle, Sparkle, Spiffy, etc. Because it amused me to no end. LOL

The pic doesn't do him justice either.  His ears are truly lol inducing in person.  He's the sweetest little cuddlebug I've ever met.

Thor was My old shepherd who lived 14.5 years and the new pup (1 year old) is named butch

Bruno was the name of my imaginary attack dog when I lived in a bad neighborhood. I couldn't afford a real dog, so every time I left the house, I would yell, "BACK, BRUNO!!!" & wrestle with the door. I don't know if it kept people from ripping me off, but it amused me.

BonesFromAsh -> RE: Name my dog please! (6/8/2011 5:48:09 PM)

Peanut.

The first thing that came to mind when I looked at the picture was Peanut.

He may be Mr. Rough and Tough, but in the pic he just looks like a silly pup who wants to play.

Enjoy your new hairy beast.
