Dang, I have always thought of a nuclear family as related to the word nucleus. To me, it meant a group who were centered around one or more people, or heck around each other, with the common goal of doing what is best for the "organism", which can be one person or the family as a whole.
I think I will continue to think of it that way. Then it does not matter where the family members come in to the equation, just that they all got there!
I was raised in a family with mom and dad and a brother, and life was good. I know folks who had different upbringings and their lives were good also.
