Call me old.........really I am cool with that........but there was a time when phones where only in our homes, businesses and phone booths and connected with wires to the structure. If you needed to make a phone call you entered one of those structures and MOST intelligent people did their level best to actually AVOID being overheard and making their personal business, everyone else's business.
Oh but their are stellar moments, as I said, nothing beats hearing a guy tell his friend that he caught something infectious from this one night stand, he's on antibiotics now, and then makes his friend sweat to not say a word to anybody as everybody would be taking the piss, he's just staying in for a few days and pretending to be really tired... I mean yeah, that is the thing that you want to discuss in a train full of commuters... There were quite a few smiles and I have to admit I had this fantasy of getting a big sign I could hold up and walk behind him, the sign would have said "I'm an irresponsible idiot with an STD and I told a whole train about it"
