Yep, we have 24 hour grocery stores here too, and not just Walmart! It's is nice to go shopping when there is no one else around. So much more peaceful.

Fae, I'm glad you're getting the rest of your stuff soon. Living out of a suitcase can be frustrating.

Ouch, that sound really painful. I hope that they can do something helpful. Or at least not make it worse.

Endo' doesn't have a cure, and it annoys me greatly that it's called an "invisible disease". Yeah, if it's so invisible than why do i know how to get blood out of anything. * grumbles *
It can be painful, it is for me. That's why i had a regular script for a 120 count supply of 10MG percacets a month.
And yes, that is a lot. But when most woman go through this kind of pain that i must endure every month, they get a screaming tax deduction at the end. All i get is a load of laundry.
There are some that have the disease without any pain. Normally the way they learn they have it is due to infertility.
Going under the knife is scary. It doesn't help that they make you sign a paper saying your family can't sue if you die on the operating table.
Chance death in surgury, live in pain, or take pain killers until menopaus kicks in ... Oh and most of the surguries are pretty iffy in helping you get out of pain.

Forgive me for ranting, but i've had to deal with some sorry medical attention here.

*purrz*

Sometimes Chaos walks by when i'm typing here in the forums, and i point to your avatar.
He says, " Oh that's fluffy, right? How's she doing? "
i say, " Yep, that's our fluffy. She's my hero. "

And yes, i know that's wrong of me. You're a girl, it should be heroine, but i can never remember how to spell it. Why can't it be "heroess" ? Everything else is e-s-s .
i admire my Chaos for what he does, but i don't always understand it.
i know you've been on the same path, and walked furthar down it. You've done so with grace not many can speak of, because it's know to only a rare few.

*big hugs*

I know a bit about what you are going through. I actually looked it up when you mentioned it earlier. That's why I said ouch. I can't imagine living with it, but I have to give you credit. Despite what you are going through, you are still civil and accomodating to new posters like me. That makes you a hero in my books. You and Fluffy. I wish there was something that could be done to help you. The most I can hope for is that they can give you something to alleviate the pain. Here's to wishing and praying.

You are so kind, fae. i don't feel special - just regular with challenges.

BTW, my family in Alaska reports that a 5.8 earthquake 38 miles from their house knocked over their Christmas tree! Everyone is OK. I'm glad their Daddy is home from his deployment.

Fluffy, good to know that everyone is safe and okay. And the challenges are the things that bring out our inner hero. Some people crumple under pressure. Those of us that stand strong under it are the real heros.

Well, he'll have something to talk about that won't make his buddies jealous when he's back at work.

i need to go boil some chicken thighs. Chaos and i co-cook chicken and dumplings. i do the chicken(stewing) and he makes dumplings that don't transform into a glutenous froth atop the soup.
It'll still be some time before he's home, so all will be prepped for him.

And tomorrow we'll get our microwave so we can easily reheat the left overs ! Huzzah !!!

Nope, sorry Lance, but the WIN is Fae's right now. I bequeath it to her. You can't have it.

Oh noes, i girly-off'd the menfolk.

Although, i must say that my girly troubles made me understand a guy problem. How weird is that?
i have a great awareness of my ovaries, which i'll often call "egg-sacks" because of the following, a well sized dog jumped onto me to say hello. Seventy pounds of dog reduced to the space of a single paw, right into the egg-sack.
Mass, force, space, speed, yeah you get the idea. It didn't tickle.
Right away i doubled over in pain. And as i regained my sences and the wind that had been knocked out of me, i realized how lucky we chicks are that we keep our primary sex organs inside.
Guys have no such luck, and that just doesn't seem right.

edited cuz that what i do

I don't know. I've 'nutted' myself on the cross bar of a bicycle, and let me say 'f*ing ouch*. Just cause we don't have all the parts on the outside, the bits we do have have a lot more nerve endings, and less padding behind it (skin, nerves, pelvic bone).

Still, the WIN is yours for the night.

i still hold we get the better design of the two options.

And i don't think i'll have too much trouble on my shift with the WIN. It'll still take the chicken pieces a bit to cool before i debone them and stick 'em back in the pot.
Oh wow, maybe discussing tonight's dinner prep shouldn't follow a conversation about genitalia.

fae, i just did that a couple of days ago - boiled the chicken thighs, cooled them, deboned them, and cut them into large chunks. But i made a casserole with them and some vegetables. It must be nice to have Chaos cook with you. i'm glad you get your household goods soon.

We know we have separate talents, and that we can combine them into an awesome final product.
Then again we also know each others' quirks, and so we have a long standing "one person in the kitchen at a time" rule, no matter how large the kitchen might be.
This kitchen is tiny next to others we've used, but i kinda like its compact nature, even the fact that the washer and dryer are squished into the mix.
i'm sooooooooooooooooooooo grateful that we have a washer and dryer and i'm not hauling a laundry buggy through the streets.
Also, even at the cost of counterspace, i like that all my "work" appliances are not peppered all over the house.
Still, i think Chaos is bewildered that i hang the delicate laundry to dry on the pot hooks.

It's 8AM here, so our stuff gets here anywhere from now to our 5PM !!!

What kinda of casserole, fluffy?

i didn't learn to cook at the heels of another, i learned first out of self defence, then got certified in culinary arts ( translation = i can cook at an idustrial level = i can prepare the really big box of mac'n'cheese ), then i watched a lot of the Food Network. So my knowledge is a tad lacking in some of the comfort foods that Chaos enjoys from time to time.

Fae, I think it's safe to say, anything goes here. Whatever topic works for you.

Fluffy, I agree. Having someone else to cook with is nice. It sucks cooking for yourself. There is too much work involved to do more than one or two dishes if you are only cooking for one. It's nice to have variety, and help in the kitchen.

Google is your friend when looking for recipies. I have tried a number of the betty crocker recipies, and they all seem to work out for me. I usually don't cook so much as bake, but when I'm looking, I just google it. The last one I tried was a carrot cake for my mom's b-day. I had too much batter for my cake pan, so I put the rest into a cupcake tin. Worked out wonderfully. And it kept fairly well in the fridge (still moist and fresh over a week later).

fae, i just made up the casserole up as i was preparing the meal. i am so tired of everything in a separate pile on the plate, so i mixed it all together.

Chicken thigh meat - cooked and cut into large chunks
Broccoli florets (no stalks) - microwaved a couple of minutes to soften them up
Roma tomatoes - large chunks
Tomato Basil Alfredo sauce enough to glaze the chicken and veggies (not too much)
Canned fried onions crumbled on top.
Baked in 350 degree F oven for 30 minutes to heat through.

(i like lots of broccoli and tomatoes.)

Master is trying to control his recently diagnosed Type 2 with diet only, so there were no potatoes or noodles in the casserole.

i WIN!

<<< supressing laughter.

Google is your friend, if you speak its language. Admittedly, i have a hard enough time speaking "human".
i'm also a little snobby about certain things, food is one of those matters.
Like you, i have little motivation to go "all out" in food preparations for just me lonesome. Left to my own devices, i'd try to survive on Mnt Dew and methol cigarettes. Though, this seems to upset Chaos.
However, i really enjoy getting to use my skills for another's pleasure.
Hey, it reads " mythical critter " and not " practical critter " above my digital 18 y/o likeness.
