46 is well past the life expectancy as recently as 1900. People today don't like admitting it but what we call middle age is historically advanced old age for our species. It should be no surprise that our bodies fall apart after living so much longer than we evolved to live.

The former high childhood mortality rate skewed those numbers down:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Life_expectancy#Life_expectancy_variation_over_time

...life expectancy increased during the years of childhood, as the individual survived the high mortality rates then associated with childhood. Surviving childhood would dramatically affect life expectancy.

43 years → 64 years total between 1200 and 1300
24 years → 45 years total between 1300 and 1400 (due to the impact of the Black Death)
48 years → 69 years total between 1400 and 1500
50 years → 71 years total between 1500 and 1550.

No it isn't. There is so much misinformation in it (presented as fact) I don't even know where to start.

60 mg of vitamin C/day is sufficient to prevent scurvy. One orange contains 70 mg of vitamin C.

The RDA was set up to prevent deficiency, not provide for optimal nutrition.

Then start with the phrases that I made bold in his text.

In complete agreement, about cars and bodies run on less than optimal fuel.

Cow's milk is not for baby cattle?

It does not cause unusual growth rates in humans. Northrup is infamous for telling lies in promotion of her vegan beliefs. I provided the links to multiple sources showing that amongst other things.

"It does not cause unusual growth rates in humans."

In Clintonese : Describe unusual. What's usual for us was not usual for others.
