K call me iggerent, but why on earth is a 22 year old allowed anywhere near such govmnt secrets? to the point he can leak them? he is a private? I realise many guys are doing all kinds of secret nasty deadly stuff, hush hush etc, but isnt that a huge fucking sign that there is a security flaw within the establishment. Arent somethings like government secrets sposed to be yano a lil bit more special secret not for eyes of the uninitiated or the untested ?

As a 23 year old E5 I had access to stuff a lot more sensitive than what Manning is accused of leaking. That is simply the nature of the military. People in their late teens and early 20's make up the majority of the personel.

Smedley Butler ? You might find his writings interesting. Anyone who serves in the military gets fucked over. There may be the exception here and there, but that is not the rule. T^T Actually the military made it possible for me to get a great college education after I got out so I felt I got a good deal. I got to see places I likely would not have seen any other way and made great friends that are still my close friends 20 years later. There were bad aspects to service but for me they were far outweighed by the good aspects.

Well lucky you lived. No agent orange ? No DU ? Great. But you know as well as I do that they will take their budget cuts out on you rather than themselves. They are scum. I see them as scum and you like to call "liar", that's fine. Call it on them. Because it is they who promote the biggest lie. If you're not familiar with Butler, in his writing after serving, decorated and had a really decent rank, he was not happy when he figured out that he was working for an oil company. He was not happy at all about it. He fought in central and/or south America mainly I think. I believe he resigned just about when it was time for another promotion. For a "company" Man to speak out like that indicates that he really was pertubed about it. These days they would just drug him up. This shit l hapened before either one of us were born. It has been going on for a long time and if anyone has any idea of stopping it, better pack a lunch. It is not going to be easy. I fact many see the beginning of history at certain times, like the British empire or the formation of the US, but the fact is that this shit has been going on for at least five thousand years. No new law or Constitution will ever change it, the change will come from the people, all six billion. T^T
