Maybe Conservative Mike can pour some "sugar" on this for us.
Conservative Mike, tell us again why you think Obama will be re-elected!

OOPS! Mod, this should be in P&S.

I dont see any good news in here for Obama, except that he hasnt lost much of his black support.

tazzygirl -> RE: Obama's Poll Numbers Shrinking. (3/30/2011 5:41:23 PM)

Ah, willbe! Nice to see you back!

slvemike4u -> RE: Obama's Poll Numbers Shrinking. (3/30/2011 5:45:19 PM)

Tazz,I have no talent for research,but I am wondering ...which party received the majority of the "black" vote in Presidential elections from '64 till present.
A follow-up,how many of these candidates were black?

DomYngBlk -> RE: Obama's Poll Numbers Shrinking. (3/30/2011 5:51:27 PM)

Pops, pointed out that your mentor howie carr is a bald faced liar..yet no words from you....what gives?

slvemike4u -> RE: Obama's Poll Numbers Shrinking. (3/30/2011 6:00:39 PM)

You have to go a bit farther back, actually.

Harry Truman had 77 percent of the black vote in 1948.

But then President Lyndon B. Johnson pushed through the landmark Civil Rights Act of 1964 (outlawing segregation in public places) and his eventual Republican opponent, Sen. Barry Goldwater, opposed it. Johnson got 94 percent of the black vote that year, still a record for any presidential election

The following year Johnson signed the 1965 Voting Rights Act. No Republican presidential candidate has gotten more than 15 percent of the black vote since

slvemike4u -> RE: Obama's Poll Numbers Shrinking. (3/30/2011 7:07:31 PM)

Okay than,with that information in mind,and please let me know when I go off the rails here,the snarky innuendo where Obama's support from the typical(as if there is one) black voter just might have had as much to do with party loyalty as with the pigmentation of the man's skin.

Brain -> RE: Obama's Poll Numbers Shrinking. (3/30/2011 7:12:24 PM)

It's unfortunate we can't give freedom to the people of Libya and free them from an evil dictator because people are obsessed with destroying Obama and the idea of preventing the reelection a Democratic president again.

slvemike4u -> RE: Obama's Poll Numbers Shrinking. (3/30/2011 7:17:20 PM)

Not a realistic fear Brain...all one need do is look at the prospective Republican candidates....Obama's reelection is as near a done deal as these things get.The one question is the makeup of the Congress he will need to work with in his second term.Can he elevate his party to a larger victory...or does his popularity slip to where he is ,while still being re-elected,a detriment to the party ticket.

Sanity -> RE: Obama's Poll Numbers Shrinking. (3/30/2011 7:24:56 PM)

Obamas SUCH a swell guy too, for giving freedom to the people of Libya and freeing them from an evil dictator. WHY are people so obsessed with destroying him???

Popeye, you continually amaze me.

You want people to believe you are a moderate and an Independent but you do nothing but find ways to bash Democrats.

If the R's don't come up with someone worth a shit and FAST, Obama is a shoe-in for reelection.

slvemike4u -> RE: Obama's Poll Numbers Shrinking. (3/30/2011 7:41:50 PM)

That's pretty much what I said....ceptin I used a lot more words [:D]

And just to add to that, even the latest FOX poll has him at 49%.

Popeye, you have been starting a lot of threads lately!
Where is HippieKinster?
He will certainly tell you about yourself.

Also, give our wonderful President Obama a break, he will probably be the only
candidate worth voting for in the next election.

You have been misbehaving lately, and I think you need 2 spankings.
Behave!

Ain't that the truth. They're scrambling too. All they got at the moment seems to be the same old set of unelectable folks who haven't yet figured out they're unelectable.

Marini, I know, as will the other dingleberries, how "DARE" I have,.....an opinion!
I simply posted a poll and they're ...S-Q-U-I-R-M-I-N-G... to interpret it differantly. It says what it says.

Marini -> RE: Obama's Poll Numbers Shrinking. (3/30/2011 8:37:08 PM)

Speak your mind Popeye!
I went outside and checked, this is STILL America!

...freedom of speech!!!

It just sounds like you are not very fond of my wonderful President Obama!
You need to see the light!
