Hello Sanity. Good to see you still around. No I don't have you on ignore. I enjoy your posts. Great combination, politics, theatre of the absurd and a touch of madness.

My blood vessels are fine, though I admit I do cough and splutter sometimes when I laugh too much.

Yes I'm LEFTY, spelt S-O-C-I-A-L-I-S-T and proud of it. Outlasted Reagan, Bush snr, Bush junior - how is he doing by the way? Has he managed to find a village? I bet it must be easier now he's given all the other idiots the illusion that they know how to sort the economy out better than Obama. Only I'm still not sure how teabags fit in with the scheme of things.

Just as well we were in favour of welfare, because it seems your leaders are creating a need for it.

I admire you for your definition of freedom, you know, the one that relies on the Second Amendment and allows your leaders the freedom to screw things up economically. Pity they somehow quite haven't worked out that freedom is something best shared with everyone, and that if you need to oppress others to guarantee your freedom it isn't quite freedom at all.

I will explain that being totally dependent on the government concept for you. It's a bit like all those people who are working and living beyond their means in debt being totally dependent on credit, banks and the financial institutions. It's also a bit like the States being dependent on international loans and credit with countries like China who can recall it at any time and really screw things up for the White House and Congress.

You people paying the bills? What? With tax dollars? Do you know how much it actually costs to keep one US Navy warship afloat? I think you'd crap yourself if you knew. Seriously.

Not everyone on welfare is socialist. It's there for people who need it, it's not a political organization. Many of us socialists are actually working, just like you. We're also active and doing things for society and other people in more meaningful ways than paying tax. But again, it's not political.

It's a bit like you and what you're doing for society by providing us with entertainment through your 'alternative' comedy routines.

Keep it up. Lord knows, in these times we all need a good laugh. Hope you're keeping well.

Cooperation is socialism.   Insurance companies, military and business operations, these are all socialist operations. When Truckinslave goes looking for ammo (even if he makes his own powder) he better hope there are socialists around.

Socialism has been what human society is all about, so cons are a little behind the power curve in that respect. They usually are pretty good at is predation, which occurs in socialist operations when some asshole doesn't disclose the fine print, and rips people off, as we had with Bush's TARP. Massive ripoffs of course piss people off more - a little chiseling here and there usually isn't as annoying.   We like to be able to trust people.

Most of the Right Wingers rationalize themselves as rough tough independents, when in fact they're simply stooges and hapless prey. As a present example, Truckinslave knows he's a slave to his business (as many of us are), which is largely shaped by forces beyond his control and even understanding.    Like the rest of us, he pays out the ass daily for the Wall Street ripoffs foisted on us - most immediately by the last Bush administration, although its roots are deeper.   But how do these RWs react? Praise Jesus (which organizations are immediately responsible for lining them up for their blood donations to Wall Street) and get out your guns - a muslim or other swarthy fella just might come by!   He ignores the immediate & pressing problem he's familiar with in favor of a highly unlikely but less boring threat (Muslims, mexicans, etc). These are stereotypical distractions that are fed to us.

Now these are the RW choices, and if they like being preyed on, I can't and won't deny them their choice. It's natural selection, and most of us are slaves to our fantasies.   But I'm looking for another niche, thanks.
