Maybe the first question should be, "are you willing to allow yourself to be beaten, raped, or killed?" The answer to that question might put the other one in a different light. There is, after all, a difference between protecting yourself and just "killing somebody." K.

Options are generally better than none. What I would have a hard time living with is being involved in an accidental gunshot death - if these dudes act like they sound, waving weapons around, "accidents" have got to be pretty common. But I suspect it's all talk by blowhards who couldn't hold a group if they had to.

YOU can't even comprehend what YOU wrote. In My situation, they THOUGHT they had the drop on Me but they DIDNT. You dont even know what you said. I sincerely hope you never defend Me in any court because if you do, I am DOOMED.

If someone gets into your home you don't talk to them, ask them what they want etc, just start unloading on them. That is a truly dangerous situation and if you're "lucky" you'll "only" be raped. And the type of people who do things like that well, it's probably not their first rodeo and unless you stop them they'll probably do it to someone else so that's how you live with it. What if they "only" raped you and then went on to kill a child? How would you live with that?

I really don't plan on finding out, and I will live with myself just fine... the key words being 'I will live'. I will give myself every (legal) advantage when it comes to those 3 words, particularly in my own home. Sorry if that seems harsh, but that is the way I see it.

You're losing me here jack. If anyone comes into my home, breaking in or otherwise forcing in against my will I can and will kill them. That is my right. No matter what the supreme court says (incidentally......) that right also extends to any of my personal space, that remains to be tested. I take my right, and I had it long before they bestowed it. Got Women jack ? I want one and I can get more weapons than most cops. Power is what this country is built upon, those who want to give it up should just fucking leave. And those who abuse power, indeed shirk the corresponding responsibility, should be executed. That's the facts - T^T

I've carried & used enough weapons in my day that I don't need to bluster about them, nor threaten people with them.

Of all the weak arguments against gun ownership/usage, I think the very weakest may be that they are not %100 effective, and %100 available, in %100 percent of imaginable situations, and are therefore worthless. That you are unarmed is evidently preferable to these people, and to the criminals.

There's little point having a gun if you're not prepared to kill somebody with it really. That's what guns are for. It's the whole point of the things. If you're worried about killing people, get a taser instead.
