Are you awake at stupid o'clock?
Here's a new place to randomly post.

i'll start -- i can see the moon from my bedroom window, which seems magical to me. =)

GreedyTop -> RE: Night owl thread *hoot hoot* (2/16/2011 12:10:43 AM)

you get the moon, I get a digital billboard from the window I'm next to..

I really need to clean the blades on my ceiling fan...

LillyBoPeep -> RE: Night owl thread *hoot hoot* (2/16/2011 12:11:10 AM)

oh yeah -- feel free to elaborate on whyyyy you're awake.
sometimes that's the most interesting part. =p har har

ironically, i'm going to attempt another run-in with the snuggle bed of snuggledoom. wish me luck.

It's my day off tomorrow and I'm awake. Generally I'm in bed at 8:30pm. But, I came home and crashed today after a horrific day at work.

DarkSteven -> RE: Night owl thread *hoot hoot* (2/16/2011 3:15:12 AM)

Good Lord, nighttime is grest. Allla the attractive wimmins in this thread and no other guys.

Must be true what they say: early to bed and early to rise, and your girl goes out with other guys.

soul2share -> RE: Night owl thread *hoot hoot* (2/16/2011 3:45:16 AM)

Well, I actually, for once, was sleeping at a reasonable hour....about 12:30, which lasted until 2:30, at which time KB decided he wanted a midnight snack.  I tried, I really, really tried to go back to sleep....it is now 6:42 and I'm still awake.  KB however, finished his snack and curled up in a little kitteh ball and promptly went to sleep.  HOW DO THEY DO THAT???????  I'd kill to fall asleep like that!

I used to work 2nd shift...11 PM was the best time to go food shopping...no one else in the store but the employees.

GT - do you use melatonin? It helps reset your circadian rhythms and you don't get the hangover effect from other sleep aids. The sublingual kind works best for me. I'm usually out in 30-60 minutes.

Yanno, I really should try the melatonin thing, because I keep hearing about it so there must be something to it.
<-- does not generally sleep well, either.
In the meantime, the sun is up, so I leave you with this owl to keep you company, til tonight we meet again:

GreedyTop -> RE: Night owl thread *hoot hoot* (2/16/2011 5:46:34 AM)

love that owl pic!  LOL

I have tried melatonin..it only works once or twice, then I need to taek a long break from it.. dunno why.

If I could afford it, I'd go to the Dr and see about a scrip for Lunesta or something similar.  the OTC sleep meds always leave me groggy and feeling like my body is in several separate parts.

LillyBoPeep -> RE: Night owl thread *hoot hoot* (2/16/2011 6:06:59 AM)

it isn't nighttime anymore but that owl pic literally made me laugh out loud -- quite loudly i might add.

GreedyTop -> RE: Night owl thread *hoot hoot* (2/16/2011 6:22:46 AM)

I'm awake again... this SUCKS.. at l;east I get to take a nap later.  Odd, I tend to sleep a bit better during the day.

Shit.. I just realized.. I'm slipping back into the sleep patterns of my truckin' days...

Me too. WTF is up with that..? [&:] Is it my inner vampire, maybe..?

soul2share -> RE: Night owl thread *hoot hoot* (2/16/2011 5:20:11 PM)

I have always slept better during the day.....it's been my sleep cycle since I was a kid, believe it or not.  My mom said I'd keep her awake at night even in the womb!  Even now, I'd rather work midnights than any other shift.

For those of you having sleep issues, try selenium.  I use both the melatonin and the selenium, but not always together.  I don't notice a huge difference in the amount of sleep I get, but the sleep I do get is BETTER.  Melatonin tends to give me wierd dreams, which aren't a problem, but I still cycle out of REM sleep sometimes if I don't take enough.  I take the 3mg melatonin, usually 4-5 at a time, and the 200mcg of selenium.   I know all too well how it feels to be desperate for sleep.  So far, the selenium seems to work.

Delilya -> RE: Night owl thread *hoot hoot* (2/17/2011 1:22:09 AM)

I've always been a night owl. Even when I knew I had to get up the next day and work. I love being awake while the world is quiet.
