tiggerspoohbear -> RE: Night owl thread *hoot hoot* (2/17/2011 6:49:59 AM)

Tried to go to sleep at 1:15 am, well that didnt take.  So read until after 5am and was awake by 8am.  Now I'm gonna have what I like to call a sleepy day.  And dayum but don't I have a sleep study tomorrow night.  Lights out at 11:30 and they wake you up between 6-6:30am.  Now that should be a fun night.

I already take prescribed sleep meds, some nights I'm ok, others not so much.  It's mostly the not so much that's killing me.  Luckily, I don't work so I can sleep through the day if I need to.

Anyone who dares tell me I shouldn't sleep during the day had better get ready to be hit by the stupid stick.  After 10 yrs of this, I sleep when I can.  This is of course coming from people who don't know the meaning of the word insomnia.  THEY sleep through a full night and wake up "refreshed".  Bejeeeezus but I hate that word.

LinnaeaBorealis -> RE: Night owl thread *hoot hoot* (2/17/2011 8:36:36 PM)

I'm awake cus I'm too horny to fall asleep. I tried going to bed an hour ago & it didn't work.

I'm basically nocturnal. I wake up after the sun goes down & want to go to sleep after it comes back up. I loved working night shift. I'd come home, open the curtains & sleep in the sun with the cats. It sucks to be nocturnal & trapped in a diurnal world. *sigh*

Darlin',  I am SOOOOO with you on this point.

And I sleep when I can....on my days off, I'm usually up all night putzing around after a full day of work, and I nap when I get tired enough to be able to sleep.  It's like my body tells my mind "hey, you don't have to work tonight...let's go!"  And heaven help me if I go outside....once I'm in the sun, I'm up......I have actually been unable to sleep for BOTH my days off, and can finally drop off aobut 6 hours before I have to go back to work.  Which is practically useless because I'm totally whipped.  Thank good ness I can do my job in my sleep!

LillyBoPeep -> RE: Night owl thread *hoot hoot* (2/18/2011 12:14:29 AM)

melancholy night-owling in NE... bleh

i don't like the feeling of "being left on the couch," if that makes any sense. when someone's giving off loads of "i have a shiny new interest" energy, it just leaves me feeling forgotten. =p haha
honestly at some point i have to move on anyway; on with life, blah blah blah

i'm just so tired of always being on shaky ground.

GreedyTop -> RE: Night owl thread *hoot hoot* (2/18/2011 12:15:52 AM)

*hugs*

LillyBoPeep -> RE: Night owl thread *hoot hoot* (2/18/2011 12:36:48 AM)

thanks Greedy *hugs back*

on one hand, it takes away some of my own guilt/anxiety about "the future," but on the other hand, it sure would be nice if someone actually wanted me as part of their "happy universe." =p
i think i'll just get some cats and get used to the loneliness.

this has been a whiney post brought to you by LBP Industries.
get your mood up, kid!

it would be great if there was some fool-proof way i could steer my unhappy thoughts in a more productive direction. or to just not have them at all. maybe i form stronger connections than i ever really should with people. and maybe this ISN'T where i'm supposed to be. all the more reason to pack up and move along.

GreedyTop -> RE: Night owl thread *hoot hoot* (2/18/2011 12:38:44 AM)

bein an old lady with cats aint all bad ;)

You always make me smile, FWIW :)

LillyBoPeep -> RE: Night owl thread *hoot hoot* (2/18/2011 12:40:28 AM)

same to you Greedy =)

LillyBoPeep -> RE: Night owl thread *hoot hoot* (2/18/2011 7:01:16 AM)

well now that i've been to sleep, i can say that if my friend decides to replace me with the new chick, i'll sure save a lot of gas!
har har

sleep turns the whole world around, yes?
and waking up to the sunrise isn't bad either. ^_^

and really, you know ... part of me was super concerned with "what happens if i DO find a relationship of my own? what happens with everything else?" well if the friendship dissolves because "other stuff" dissolves, then maybe it wasn't as good of a friendship as i thought it was, yanno?
so either way, it's more or less a win win.
