one of the nurses in the neonatal intensive care unit actually had the nerve to tell me she personally found breast feeding repulsive! i was totally shocked, here this woman is dealing with precious newborns and she finds the healthiest form of nutrition repulsive? no, sorry, the ones that have a problem with breastfeeding are wrong. She's not the only woman who finds breast feeding repulsive. While I support a woman's right to choose how she feeds her child, I would really appreciate not being subjected to that choice in public. I couldn't possibly care less how "natural" it is, I still have a visceral, involuntary negative reaction just to the thought of it. I would never tell a woman not to feed her child in any way she chooses (as long as it's healthy), but I'd prefer there to be discreet, comfortable, and sanitary nursing stations/lounges available so I don't have to see it. The last thing I want is to go out to eat and have my meal ruined because the woman in the booth across from me is breastfeeding and causing me to lose my appetite. [:'(] I didn't breast feed my own children, I most certainly don't want to watch her feed hers. I am not wrong and neither is anyone else who doesn't want to see a woman breast feeding. We simply have different preferences. We also have the right to choose whether or not we want to witness a woman breast feeding. Doing it in public takes away my right to avoid it. Sorry, you don't get to ride roughshod over my rights just because you have a different opinion.
