Short Version: quote:
ORIGINAL: slaveluci That's surely your perogative. I agreed with Focus in all his points. I usually do. I was not arguing (and could not be) with your ability to agree with him. Irish's reaction was a tad dismissive and hasty, true. Yet Focus' strawman interpretation of Irish's views is flawed. Director's Cut (Philosophical Detour - read at your own discretion; highlighting necessary) ORIGINAL: slaveluci As far as her having a "more dedicated, obedience/servitude view," I won't touch that kind of statement with a ten foot pole. Who is more dedicated or obedient is a pissing contest I have no desire to participate in. They are only called "pissing contests" because of people's apathy to do the analytical legwork necessary to actually be able to differentiate degree of styles from degrees of "quality". Magnús Ver Magnússon is a stronger man than I. Does that mean I run around crying in existential circles that he's a better person than me? Do I rally against 'strength-comparison' discussions because it will demean my persona to fail in comparison to him? Now, while "dedication" is certainly a subjective issue, how "obedient" a person is (or, more importantly, wants to be) is verifiable. Some are more obedient than others. This is as self evident as having different fingerprints. If someone isn't as obedient as they'd like to be, they can change it or just be happy with who they are and find someone who matches them. Simple. To the core point, though, is that some people actually seek obedience-based dynamics, and some seek conflict/correction dynamics. Guess which of those two will have greater overall percentages of obedience?. Does that mean obedience based dynamics are better than c/c dynamics? Obviously not. And only someone confused about what they are or who they are would take umbrage at someone else for having greater skill at something else because they think only universal metaphysical equality can give them a pure sense of self.
