LMAO!   global warming will make you eat bugs!  LMAO!  bon apitite!

Replacing Cattle With Edible Insects? physorg.com — Insects produce much smaller quantities of greenhouse gases per kilogram of meat than cattle and pigs. This is the conclusion of Dutch team of scie...

You cannot be serious.  A Dutch team of scientists was needed for that?  Since I was a preteen, I've known that warmblooded mammals need to eat more food so that they can generate their internal heat, while insects and reptiles do not.  So coldblooded creatures are obviously more efficient at converting food to edible meat.  Duh.

What's "Duh' in Dutch?

I think it is hilarious-  the NWO wants y'all to eat bugs to save the earth.

What a hoot!  LOL.

Bon Apitite!

I didn't see any mention of the NWO in the links you provided.
Try again.

Who then?   No one here wants to pay a carbon tax.  And no one here plans to give up meat.

But- oh the globe is warming and we are all going to die- so now we will be forced to eat bugs!

WHOM?

I think the muslims would have a problem with that as well. The halal diet's pretty much kosher stuff as well, isn't it? They're just a lot messier slaughtering the beef...

I didn't know there was any messiness.  Halal and kosher requirements are identical AFAIK.  Although I suppose you'd need an imam to bless halal instead of a rabbi.

I hate to be the one to tell you this, sport, but that Soylent Green film was science fiction, not a documentary.

Bon appetit.

At least make some effort to get something right occasionally.

My understanding (based on seeing both slaughtering methods done) is that the halal ritual doesn't specify a type of knife that has to be used, and any Iman is acceptable to cut the beast's throat so long as he can give the blessing. He doesn't need to be trained to slaughter the animal, which I think the Rabbi who does the kosher ceremony does.

Crab, lobster and shrimp are arthropods just like insects.

Those friends of mine who have eaten roasted grasshoppers claim they taste 'nutty'

You're projecting again, I fear.

Last week it was big news that a scientist discovered how male birds of paradise change the color of their tail feathers: they turn them a bit so that the light reflects in a different way. My youngest brother remarked that anyone and his family who keeps pigeons knows this innately from observing the males, especially during courting.

Tsssssss!

Edited to add: I got a weird error message in Dutch when I posted this post. Something like "This message is too long: you used 103 characters and the limit is 100". What was that about? I have the Opera browser.

Surely it's the same thing but at a different scale?

Imagine if a cow had as many legs as a millipede. Would look strange a cow with many legs walking towards you in a field.

Millipede, yum.

I can just see all the lefties grabbing their silverware and stuffing cloth napkins in their shirts!

Pa Hunk, what if these Dutch Scientists said "Hippo Poop" instead of bugs?
Would the lefties go quietly into THAT dark night?

SL4V3M4YB3 -> RE: Replacing Cattle With Edible Insects? physorg.com — Insects produce much smaller quantities of gre (1/12/2011 2:17:49 PM)

By lefties do you mean people who smudge ink as they write or those of a certain political persuasion?

Are you referring to the red dye made from crushed beetles?

pahunkboy -> RE: Replacing Cattle With Edible Insects? physorg.com — Insects produce much smaller quantities of gre (1/12/2011 5:31:36 PM)

People accidentally swallow bug when they sleep.   Something like 12 a year.
