I really don't get why people have a bug-eating taboo. It's utterly irrational. Edible insects are gourmet fare, truly excellent in taste and texture when properly prepared. They are also nutritious and healthy. What's not to like about them? I've enjoyed almost every entomophagous preparation I've ever sampled, and some have been impressively yummy. Rational minds eat bugs, and like them, too.

I've had bugs that were meant to eat, There's a candy shop in Pismo beach right on the beach that sells candy withb ugs in them, I had chocolate covered ants and I've had ranch flavored meal worms, and I even ate part of the eye out of a grasshopper that was in my lollypop. It's kind of a gross concept for some I know, but the 3 bug foods I had, are not all that gross if you don't stop and think ewww oh my god, it's an ant in there, or ewww oh my god hell no, that's a meal worm.

It's not a matter of the animals we use for food that are the problem. Its us...People...there are too many of us. We are a species that is similar to a virus in how our life cycle is. This is particularly true since the discovery of oil as a fuel, fertilizer, chemical component etc. Historically before that time, people were balanced out in a sustainable level for the planet, both climatically and productively. Since that time, our population as a species has exploded and is only possible by the artificial use of oil based products. As that resource becomes scarce, you'll see the population decline untill another resource is a replacement or we learn how to live within our planetary means.... Oh wait..that would mean we would actually have to do meaningful work to live..not meaningless work to survive...my bad.

I don't know what kind of work you'd but I don't consider what I do meaningless. I have about 700 miles to drive to get to a walmart in ky. Goods have to flow to keep things running. You can go back to the pre-industrial way of doing this but that come with the nightmares they had to deal with back then too. Hard work is only meaningless if you think it is.

I have some fairly radical thought processes on many things from society to religeon and so on. I'll be happy to discuss them but I assure you they dont mean going back to the 18th century. Suffice it to say, I believe we as a species have been poor custodians of what we are blessed with, that being intelligence and conscience. I believe if we really wanted to we could change and move beyond the yoke of oil. It would take a massive effort from every nation..and its hard enough to get a group of 5 people to agree on a place for lunch. Be well
