[:)] Games have been delayed hours for lightning in Miami and even in New York, heavy rains result in player injuries, thousands of no-show or leave early fans (which means much lower concession sales) and in Dallas, which now has a convertible dome, there have been snow covered fields for games in the past. Arizona has a domed stadium. Houston and Dallas both have convertible domes. There are domes in Atlanta and New Orleans. If LA ever gets a team back, their eventual new stadium will be a convertible. Their are contingency plans for many of the newer NFL stadiums to place convertible or temporary roofs upon existing structures. It's about controlling of and parity of game conditions and maximizing ticket sales and concessions. I am sure there will be a exceptions, proving the rule by 2035... but not by 2050 and trust me... the NFL League offices have the whole century numbered out.

OH and lets stop this nonsense that 20 and snow is football weather. It's not... Football is a Fall Sport for the most past, with the exception of Bowl Games, the college season is over by Thanksgiving. Even in the Superbowl era, up until the 16 game season, the NFL regular season was over before Christmas. Football weather is a crisp October Day not a February Blizzard... but that said... there was no reason to move that game.

Building more domes is a complete waste of money. This is not urgent infrastructure.

Yep, that's one of the franchises I was thinking about. I can't imagine some of the northern franchises doing anything but laughing at the thought of it, the fans would freak out!

Soilder's Field is the NFL's smallest Stadium at 61,500. The Bears could easily fill 70,000+.... in ticket sales alone the Bears could be making 15-20 million dollars a year more than they are now. Chicago will have a new Stadium with a retractable dome in the next 25 years easy. As for northern teams, Detroit, Minnesota, Indianapolis and Seattle already have them and Buffalo is talks for a new Stadium and wanted a dome and use constant threats of moving to Toronto. By the end of this century, elements will not be an issue in the NFL and the fans really will not care...not even in Green Bay.

OK.... It;s 2010.... what about 2025? And surely the NFL can afford it.... there will be a new stadium in Chicago within the next 25years an it will have a convertible roof
